  2. I thought I would attempt to post a step by step (somewhat at least) detail of my cabinet build. Maybe people will see something in this that helps them with their future build. I've learned a bit more since my build and I've changed a few things too. My first step was .... I knew I wanted to build an arcade cabinet.. But how. I turned to a book called "Project Arcade." The book helped me a out great deal and it helped me in avoiding my first mistake. DON'T BUILD A CABINET THAT YOU CANNOT GET THROUGH YOUR DOORWAYS! haha http://www.amazon.com/Project-Arcade-Build-Machine-ExtremeTech/dp/0764556169 Ok, I knew I wanted a 4 player cabinet, because two of my favs were 4 players. TMNT and NBA JAM. I decided the best thing to do would be to build the control panel first and then build the rest of the cabinet around the panel. I made a cardboard design of the top of the panel first. I made the template and used the exact dimensions for each item, joystick, trackball, push button, etc.

  3. I don't think I am going to get too involved in the theme creating right now, due to the impending release of evolution. I'd like to wait until that comes out to venture into it further. However, I was dabbling around with an Atari 2600 theme. I love krakerman's one, so I am not sure if I'll even use this. I just thought I'd make something that seems to look like 1977. The video snaps would show up on the old school TV on the right, the game list would be over the dated Atari poster and the game box art (title) would be located in the lunch pail lying on the floor. Anyone know of anything else that I should add. I put some star wars figures on the TV as the 2600 and star wars were released in the same time frame. I am thinking I would put the menu across the top and the high score scroll along the bottom.

  7. Deleting your cached emulator data is definitely worth a shot. Sometimes making a number of changes to your ROM directory can cause the cached data to become out of sync (in my experience at any rate). If your ever curious to see the exact names that GameEx is using for matching purposes you can take a look at the databases located in the...\GameEx\DATA\EMULATORS directory. If you're not sure how to view those databases, this thread may be of some assistance.

  8. These are looking great ibleedspeed! Nice work on removing the background and cleaning up the edges. I never would have guessed that these hadn't come directly from the source with a transparent background. Keep it up!

  9. I managed to snag a decent image of my pc case, the nzxt switch 810 had to remove the background myself of course but totally worth it for the novelty of seeing my pc under the pc games header...

  10. There are dozens of websites and other forums where you can obtain artwork. All depends on what you need. If you need anything specific let me know and I can point you in the right direction.

  12. Still feeling out if I wanna make this background the entire theme or If I want to have every page be different... also the text was just a test... will be looking for a better text style cuz this one dont really fit the background I think... ps kinda hard to see the carbon fiber detail on the forum with the size reduction of the image but the background is a really fine carbon fiber...I have since made some slight alterations to make the background have more depth as well... each emulator has its own character render, console and logo like the gamecube above...

  13. Haha. That is not a typo. Well the game while requiring some hand eye can entirely be negated if you find all the hidden objects. After all objects being found you enter a bonus round that starts at 10000 points per kill. Each round lasts 5-10 shots and increments 1000 points per round. If you let anything off the screen the round ends and you go back to the normal game. On this run I made it to round 11. So roughly 700-1m was netted in the bonus round. Other than that. Be quick.
