  2. Hi, so a couple of us over at B.Y.O.A.C have been working on front ends for multi star wars cabinets. Most of the work has been done by Le Chuck with some great snaps, but I have thrown together a GameEx theme. The question is if it is too niche to upload? as its fairly useless as a general purpose theme and needs most things turned off along with custom menus enabled?. I have two versions one with a text box and one without, really I am just testing the water as think maybe it may just not be suitable. It will be available at BYOAC with a readme for set up but what do you think?.

  3. All - We now have a dedicated Category called Hi-Score Competitions. This is the new home of the GameEx Hi-Score Competion as well as The Arena which now houses the Shoot'Em Up Competition. I want to take this time to thank GimmeClassics, HanSolo77, and DazzleHP for their fine contributions to the GameEx community in promoting the various hi-score comps. Even if you don't participate in the competitions, please stop by and visit the forums to see what a fine job these guys have done in making it one of the busiest forums in the GameEx community! Additional thanks goes out to Adultery for his plugins and other programs that have enhanced the success of the GameEx Hi-Score Competitions, providing the options for updating the Hi-Score RSS feed which can be included in user created themes, as well as the GameEx Hi-Score Snapper for user score verifications. 4. Make sure to get the LUCKY charms they give nice bonuses for not doing much (if you grab all 5) They always drop from the small fast green and purple ships that come in groups of 5 (or is it six? lol). Be careful though because you can destroy them before they come on screen which leaves getting the charm a bit tricky!

  6. Awright, Juno First is first in hopefully a long line of trustworthy suggestions by yours truly. Before we begin, here's your benchmark score. ExedExes - 230,060 Now I hear you all groaning and leaving the thread, but before you bolt for the doors, I'm gonna help out those who are less familiar with this game. Think of it as a vertical Defender. You have the long range scanner on the top, enemies that roughly resemble and appear just like the alien landing ships, and even the chance to save humans here. Plus, the second button is your Warp, that will get you out of trouble, much like Hyperspace can. Each wave has many of these alien ships, but you can easily avoid them and their shots by moving up to speed up, and holding down will reverse the direction of your ship. Yes, you can travel backwards in this game, and it might help. A warning though, the longer the ships stay alive, the harder they'll be to destroy, they will change colors and fire faster. Be on the lookout for a blue circular space capsule (looks like an asteroid) with a spaceman inside once shot at. Pick him up for fast points, then the screen turns red and you enter a special mode where the enemies don't fire back, but they also don't appear on the screen quite as fast - these enemies start at a certain point value and increase by 200 pts for each one (up to 3200 pts) you can kill during the red screen period. When a wave is cleared, you receive a point bonus for time remaining. (anywhere from 100 - 400 (depending on wave) multiplied by every 5 seconds left on the timer, example if you had 64 seconds left in wave 1 it would be 100 X 12 = 1200) You have 3 uses per stage of the Warp feature by pressing the second button, it temporarily breaks your ship up clearing the screen, and you'll use that to avoid enemy fire, collisions, and the dreaded mines that appear starting in Wave 4, which are best avoided by reversing your ship and shooting them, because scrolling them off the screen doesn't always work. Extra lives are at every 100K. That's it for now, hope more of you will try this!

  7. Thanks for the tip Draco - had a very quick go and converted to a ver4 but it just added even more theme elements and I am aiming for a very bare bones theme. It does though do everything that I was going for when using custom menu`s`, just not when using the default menu structure. So as it works for me, I am happy to hand over what I have to anyone wanting it. Please fix/extend or whatever with it . Two version are available ALUMINIUM FALCON is the bare one from the video and... RED Leader catchy name huh?, is the version with a text box, including some extra .INI files I also made an alternate background vid if that is of any use ti anyone?.
