  1. He said he can run the EXE ones fine, not the others. You might try (like DazzleHP suggested) putting your rom filter to *.fpt rather than EXE. To be honest, I'm not sure what the EXE's are for. I just checked mine (and realized I need to do a MAJOR overhaul on my setup) and the only EXE I have is for FuturePinball itself. Adding the Scan Sub Folders will help too if your tables are in subfolders (like mine are).

  2. Try, (in Setup Wizard) Advanced Emulator Setup >Scan Sub Folders = Yes EDIT - Also you might want to add *.exe to RomFilter

  6. Please welcome our first Elites of 2014 - Stigzler and u-man! I want to personally thank both of them for their contributions to the GameEx forums. I appreciate their enthusiasm for the hobby and the insights and knowledge they share frequently with others. Their helpfulness in testing the various plug-ins and assisting other members to resolve their issues is exemplary. Salut!

  7. OMG.... well i am speechless, proud and surprised. Thank you all, for the nice compliments. This community is really awesome. At this point, i have to say that there are 4 persons, which i want to mention especially: 1. off course Tom and Headkaze, for bringing us this great Frontend and/or great tools for our hobby. 2. Draco 1962 for teaching me the right manners and behaviour , always having a good joke and sharing his knowledge with us. 3. Nullpointer for his approach to new people in the forum. I learned a lot of him and I have never seen a bad attitude. The solutions he brings in, are exceptional and right to the point. Accurate would be a far better name for him. It showed me why this forum is so awesome. I am glad to be here... elite or not I know that my comments sometimes sound harsh, but they never meant to be hurting. All the good people here, is what makes GameEx my first choice. I have seen a lot of other forums, but with no doubt I can say that this forum is outstanding in many ways. As the future is bringing us even more exciting stuff I am curious what will come next. Keep it strong, keep it vital.... as you guys rocks.

  8. Backups For backups you have a ton of options. If the Cab is not going to be at your house, I would suggest an external or second hard drive. If you are using windows 7, the included backup tool works pretty well. If anything else, go with acronis or something similar. If your friend has WHS or some sort of NAS use the backup software included... ok last option, if you buy an external HD like from WD, it usually includes backup software. Resolutions I am not certain about your card, but on mine, I found that forcing AA on mame.exe in the Nvidia Control panel really helped to smooth things out on my 32" 1360x768 Vizio LCD. Might have some performance limitations with that card though. To be real direct though, on an LCD, using anything other than a native resolution is going to add additional artifacts. Pause Problem I don't experience that with my setup, it works as described. But, I did not define pause in GE. I only defined it in MAME.

  9. I'm a dumbass. When I first set the ROMs directory up, I created ..\NEC TurboGrafx-16. For some reason later I changed it to ..\NEC TurboGrafx. I _thought_ I changed GameEx to point to the new directory but I hadn't. It's odd that GameEx would continue to show me the cached contents of a directory that didn't exist, but I'm not complaining. Once I changed the directories I was good. Sorry to have wasted your time. (sigh)

  10. ive done all of that, and nothing worked.. although i have finally found a solid workaround. I found the following on this forum (please forgive me if theres some sort of policy to linking other forums and such.. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=69901.0 there, there is a link to an application called cabvol. Basically same as volume tray. Its a small exe you must keep running. Same idea, just set a key for volume up, down and if you want mute.. worked like a charm, even on top of gameex Download cabvol.exe run exe set keys for volume up, and down, as well as any other simple options, and simply minimize the app. Obviously i added it to my startup folder to startup with windows. I set it to NUM - and NUM+. The volume goes up and down with those buttons, no matter what im doing, or what programs im in. After mapping my shift keys in winipac, Now with just holding down my "COIN" button, I can move my joystick up and down and control the volume any time i wish. Problem 1 down

  11. Open the PinballX settings, click 2 times the green arrow pointing right and on the 3rd screen youll wind the display settings. Right underneath you can specify the position(x,y) and the width/height of the backglass. If the width and height dont match your monitor resolution you have found the error.

  12. *looks around befuddled* Huh? Me? Whoa. Whadda do!? Wow. Must have reached my 100th post or summat! Well cheers chaps. Suprised and pleased. And thanks for your help, patience and tolerance of my various stages of pestering whilst trying to grasp the reins of this petulant beast that is retro emulation and cab building. Elite, huh? I always remember that great docking station scene on the BBC micro. Bring out the geek!

  13. In Game List Manager, when selecting a game, only show items with .vpt and .fpt extensions. I'm sure 99% of the folks have .txt, bios files, etc in their tables dir and the list is littered with non tables. Or if you want to go the other way hide these extensions: .directb2s - backglass files .vbs - bios files .exe - old B2S backglass files .txt - misc text files/instructions for tables Z edit: Added to version 1.73

  14. As mentioned in another Thread: Display of the Instruction Card and/or Flyer instead of the Loading screen So there would be an individual Loading Screen for each table
