Playing around a bit... Pressing SHIFT+SPACE will bring up the new Control Panel view during your game. You can specify your theme's CP background image in the theme's XML, and the viewer allows you to set a default panel to show if you don't have one specifically for that game (the name of the image must match the ROM name of course). The display stays up for 15 seconds, or until you hit SHIFT+SPACE again. Here's a shot of mine: Essentially I suppose you could put any image in there and it'll do the same thing, but it was really made for your controls screen. I'm thinking of adding a text reader form too for FAQs and whatnot. Maybe.

I've done about 5 more screens and maaaaaaan that was exhausting. Here's a couple of examples.

This is the final presentation of what the system screens will look like. Now i've got the PSD files fully setup I hope that each screen wont take too long, each PSD has about 25 layers. Ive added more glossy finishes to some of the pieces in each system screen.

Looks good, I just completed my theme based on yours and about 10 others in the theme section, it too supports all the great themes. you, KRC and myself are making. Maybe with multiple themes using your idea , others will start making themes. Hopefully by Monday I can upload it to the themes section.
