  1. I call it "Angry Dad". I have a father who will call me super angry to help him diagnose why his stuff isn't working, so I sat down and made this app as his first point of contact. It does a lot of things, like release/renew, run his AV software, help diagnose his Hughes Net router, and even emails me his blood glucose reading (he has a habit of not checking it unless I ride him about it). I thought it turned out kinda cool! Here's some snaps: Strike one up in the battle of Dads vs Nerds! LOL!

  2. Hi guys ! This theme is a concept that I'm thinking of try. I really like GameEx, but there are some things new things on the interface that I want to try. Based on the figure bellow, I will try to explain what I want. Area 1 : Free Space I don't know what I'm going to do with this free space. I'm thinking about putting the game box on this area. But I'm not sure yet. Area 2 : A much clear Gamelist. No menu, No Text1 and Text2 fields. For me it only uses more space on the screen, because the Text 1 show the selected game. Which is already in focus, so we lose some space to display the same information. So, NO MENU, NO TEXT 1 & TEXT 2. Just the game list, pure and simple. Area 3 : The clock and the date. They are just an small part of GameEx ui. So, I don't want to give to then much attention. Clear font, no focus and in the corner. Just this. Area 4 : In game screenshot/video We don't spend too much time taking a look at the in game video. Only if we want to try, see games that we don't know. So here, no need to much focus. Just an small preview of the game Area 5 : Game Description. This is one of the things that GameEx have, and I didn't think about using it until today. I really like to use it, But the question is, This field can be persistent? We can use a diferent font size? Area 6 : Console Art. Another thing that I'm not sure to be using. It's because is pretty hard to find good quality images to all consoles and arcades. So for now it's just a test. Guys, please, let me know what you think of my ideas. I came to this because I kind studied how I use GameEx. And my primary focus is on the GameList, so the less things on the screen, better is my usability. One thing that I really want is one key navigation. I asked for it on the requests. I will ilustrate this here too. This is something that we have on Rockband games. You press a button (keep pressed) and a Windows pops on the screen allowing you to choose a letter. After this letter is chosen, the list jumps to the first game with this letter on the Game List. Like this So, see what you guys think of my ideas. I really like to talk about it !

  3. Arcades were at one time always crowded and filled with gamers. It was a fun experience to shoot for the top score or go head to head in the latest arcade brawler. Things have changed though since the explosion of home consoles and gaming PC’s. Their emergence have all but slowly extinguished arcades from malls and outlets. While gaming consoles and PC’s offer incredible performance for the price, there is something missing. Part of the exciting arcade experience is lost when you throw a standard controller in the mix and game from the comfort of the couch. While I love modern gaming I still heavily enjoy the retro titles from the past. To recapture this lost era and overall experience I began researching in great detail about arcade cabinets. This included the different types and styles available and their varying price range and overall offerings. Multiple vendors offer prebuilt units but usually this meant they only played one certain game from a particular genre. While those machines are still nostalgic and enjoyable in their own right I still wanted more. It was at this point that I realized that a custom build would be ideal. This would cut cost and open the door for endless options in regards to the cabinet’s design and its configuration. Luckily, I am good friends with an excellent carpenter that was even more excited than myself to get started on the project. Once the design, features and specs were mapped out we set off to buy and order the needed supplies. After all the parts and materials were in place the actual build took roughly 5 full days. If you wish to have your own personal arcade cabinet, contact Chris at [email protected]. He will be happy to discuss the different plans available, prices and options. Each unit can be completely customized to your liking making it truly one of a kind. Below is a video of the finished work, materials, tools and a short preview of playable games. 4. Stick a fork in me, I'm done...again https://www.dropbox....ns9z/tGXBVIbd79 Check the first post, I've updated the full info there, it has attached larger files to look at as well. Let me know if you see anything to add, but I think I'm gonna have to call this done for awhile, and focus on some other things.

  5. Actually, he probably wouldn't get the joke. My wife RickRoll'd me at our wedding before our first dance though, so that might make it in to "Angry Wife"! LOL!
