I found an issue in gameex where I believe that could be a bug :

1. I start gameex

2. He will play the default playlist and always starts with the same song (can I change that that he always starts another song ?)

3. When I now go to MULTIMEDIA -> JUKEBOX, he stops the current song and plays another song, but NOT from the actual playlist. I know that because when I go 1 track back, I get another song. He does that only 1 time. If I go back again to the main menue and back to the jukebox, the song stays...

Do You also have that problem ?

I have the same problem since a looooootttt versions ago...

But, people here says is a problem of my Windows Media....

I remember when i was start using GameEx, this was not a problem.... You have a folder with music, Gameex select that music and all runs good....

But i remember in one version the fun go to end...

And now, EVERY TIME I RUN GAMEEX IT STARTS WITH THE SAME SONG... IT'S SO BORRING AND I'M THINKING TURN OF MUSIC FOR THE MOMENT...

I have the same issue. A long time ago, GameEx would play songs randomly when starting up GameEx. Now it plays the same playlist starting with the same song.

I don't remember what changed that may have triggered this because it was a long time ago. Perhaps it was going to Windows Media Center and adding the same directory of music there?

So now every time I start GameEx we all start singing along to "Song for a Future Generation" by The B-52's. And I see how quickly I can change the song by going into Mulimedia/JukeBox/Playlist/Clear and Queue All then Playlists/Shuffle Current Playlist.

Now I have rebuilt my system from Vista to Windows 7. Hoping the problem was gone. However, when starting GameEx it has the same problem only with a new play list. So we will now get sick of a new song. :)

Or if there is a fix maybe we won't have to get sick of the new playlist before I deploy the rebuilt system back to our living room...

I found an old post about this problem to give a timeframe for how long the problem has been around:

Ranzo, Evilforces and Wahoo - as with any troubleshooting issue, please provide a copy of your log file right after the issue occurs and gameex.ini file (may need to save as a text file by opening in Notepad and saving as a .txt file). This allows us to review the logs and your configuration.

While you may be encountering a problem that appears on the surface to be the same as one reported at an earlier time, providing us this bit of info may show that a new issue has arisen that is actually different than one previously addressed. It may be one and the same. This will help us to know for sure.

You do not note what you are using as your default media player. This info is also useful. Please provide the name and complete version number (found usually in Help > About XXXXX (where XXXXX is the name of the media player). Some times the issue is not a GameEx issue at all, but a problem with a setting in the media player you are using.

You may click on the Applications and Guides by Tempest link in my sig should you need to reference the "How to ask for Help" guide provided by Tempest with a list of most of the common information tidbits the community needs to help you resolve your issue.

Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem as teh others one which posted in that thread...

Now the newest think is that when I go at the beginning directly into the Jukebox, Gameex will crash...

Ohh man...and always the same song...and before, when I went into the Jukebox, he took automatically another song...

So, I am know   :)

Bye the way, I updated the Full MAME Installation Guide to version 2.0, which has Visual Pinball integrated... :)

Bye,

Bye the way, the problem was not there in gameex version 10.29, because in my old FULL MAME Installation Guide, Version 1.8, I was using that version and I did not have that problem...so I think it must have something to do with gameex....

Also what I wrote before : You start gameex, he play always the same song, and when I go to the jukebox, he stops the actual song and switches to another one...why ??

I also deleted the corresponding Jukebox files in the DATA folder and the playlist txt files, started again gameex....he is creating the lists new but with the same results....grrrr...

Yeah this is also an issue for me. I disabled playing. Music on startup because of this very thing. Now I want to listen to music I go to the multimedia section of GameEx and load the tunes from there. This ensuress a random song everytime I use it instead of being forced to listen to the same songs in the same order everytime. :)

I made this change some time ago so I can't be sure exactly when this started happening to me.

.:EDIT:. If I was forced to listen to the B52s everytime my cab turned on I would probably drive my car right off a cliff! :)

I will apply my old image wth gameex version 10.29 and will see if everything is ok, but I am sure it will be...

We were at the beach

Everybody had matching towels

Somebody went under a dock

And there they saw a rock

It wasn't a rock

It was a rock lobster

LOL. After hearing it so often I have to agree. I do love 80's new wave music though.

OK, I just installed my old Image with Gameex version 10.29, and I have the same problem :

1. Start Gameex

2. He starts always the same song insted of shuffling the music

BUT :

I do NOT have the problem that when I go now into Jukebox, he will NOT stop my playlist and start another one... :)

Also, in the new version of gameex, when You start gameex for the first time, he will check for new music files. When You go now to the jukebox, the system will hang and You can see how he checks all music files by title. Ok, not a problem BUT after 2 minutes, my screen saver will start, which means that he will STOP taging my music !! When I hit the ESC key, the screen will stay black and nothing will go on...

As You can see, we have still some bugs in the new version..ggrrr...could someone please report that to Tom ?

Bye,

André

Can you please confirm the issue goes away if "load playlist on thread" is turned off under Tweaks/Performance?
