I don't know what happened, but about 3 days ago I guess I changed something in my config that caused the video previews for all systems to play back slowly. The audio plays at normal rate. Like for the 007 World Is Not Enough preview, the door is opened, then gunshots are heard, which doesn't catch up in the video until... ever I guess.

I've attached my config file.

I thought it could be a codec issue, so I updated the FFDShow from the one listed on GameEx site to 20080801. That caused GameEx to freeze but the audio to play for the video when the game was mouse-overed.

I uninstalled that and used GSpot to make sure I have the right codec installed.

These are all videos from emumovies. I installed XVID since that is what they are encoded in.

Same issue as originally.

I uninstalled the newer FFDShow and rebooted, then isntalled the older FFDShow from GameEx site.

I defragged my HD because because of all the new videos I downloaded.

I also downloaded all the cart scans, box scans, manuals, etc.

Any ideas what could have happened?

I have an MSI Motherboard with a built in ATI 1250 video card, two gigs of ram, and an Athlon 64 X2 4800+ processor.

Another question:

Now that I have the PDF manuals, I try to open them in GameEx, but it just returns back to the listing as though I didn't click on it... is there something else I need to enable?

Thanks for all the help. Hope this is coherent enough for ya'll to understand.

Umm you can play with the alpablending settings..

Are you using the Hiq or LowQ videos?

To read PDF make sure to D/L the manualviewer program from the homepage. And have acrobat installed.

Depending on the size of the PDF it may take a while to load.

Let us know if that helps

Thx for the PDF thing.

I'm using the HiQ videos. Did I mention they play fine in Windows Media Player?

I'll start downloading the LowQ videos to a seperate folder.

Any other ideas I could try?

Guess I'm interpreting it wrong...

You mentioned a manualviewer program on the home page, but I don't see it.

I see 3 websites, 2 work, one is in spanish, but I don't see any programs on them.

Could I get more directions for dummies?

Also, it looks like emumovies only has standard videos for N64 so that isn't the issue...

Turns out it was the High Quality Vids that were causing the problem... odd... I'd had figured my computer could handle it...

I used Super to convert the videos to SQ. I'll see about uploading them to emumovies so they won't be missing.

I have to admit, I have a really hard time trying to figure out what people are talking about... what does this mean?

www.emumovies.com is a site that has an FTP server you can purchase access to which has a lot of video snaps for many many emulators. The videos are divided into different folders. The ones I had downloaded that had caused me issues were in the HiQ folder because they weren't in the Standard Quality folder.

I converted them from HiQ to SQ and uploaded them to the FTP server so others wouldn't have to do any conversion.

Make sense?

I have an FTP account with Circo....

And yes, what you said makes way more sense than what I thought you meant... ;)

Thanks for clarifying!

I'm having the same issue. I downloaded the FFDShow install from gameex.net and HiQ or SQ video snaps avi are running choppy. All AVI files are running on the local hard drive (non external). I'm running 2.8 with a Nvidia G4. Not sure what else it could be. Need some assistance?

Thanks!!

Rapid Fire, those Vista Codecs did the trick. You think they will have an issue when I install the divx Karaoke plug in?

Thanks for your help. (Running HiQ, a tad slow but It may just be me)

Dunno about the divx one, I've only installed the Karaoke plug-in that comes with GameEX which I thought was DirectX. Either way I've never had the opportunity to use it so I coudln't tell ya for sure, but no one else has reported any issues.
