  1. Dunno about the divx one, I've only installed the Karaoke plug-in that comes with GameEX which I thought was DirectX. Either way I've never had the opportunity to use it so I coudln't tell ya for sure, but no one else has reported any issues.
  2. First uninstall the codec packs you have. Then download the codec pack from the link right above your post and install that.
  3. Hey Chazz, it looks like you have an LCD Marquee (what is the proper term? It slips my mind) hooked up to your cabinet and is displaying the name of the game being played. Is that right? Where did you get it and how did you hook that up? Thanks
  4. Holy snikes I just re-installed MC64 and watched the install files... looks like you included MinGW anyway. Guess I had overwritten it manually not paying attention. Anyway it works now! Thanks for the support!
  5. First I used the mamedev auto version, but that didn't work so I isntalled the hard version... First I did install MC64 though... do I need to bother downloading MinGW from the mamedev site?
  6. I had this great program working, then had to format my comp due to a stupid virus I somewhat willingly opened... ( instinct told me it was a virus, finger clicked anyway... ) Anyway, I'm trying to compile mame for an Athlon 64 processor running WinXP MCE 2005. These are the directions I followed exactly (except for the name of the mame folder of course seeing as how it is 127) Also, I installed MinGW by following "The Hard Way" shown in the Developers Tools section of mamedev.org 1. Install Mame Compiler 2. Download the Mame source from mamedev.org (ie. mame0126s.exe) 3. Download the Intermediate Updates from mamedev.org (ie. 0126u1_diff.zip, 0126u2_diff.zip, 0126u3_diff.zip, 0126u4_diff.zip) 5. Download the hiscore diff patch from here (ie. hi_126u4.txt) 7. Extract the Intermediate Update diff's to C:\MinGW\patches 8. Run mame0126s.exe and extract it to C:\MinGW\source\Mame0126u4 10. Run Mame Compiler (Start->Program Files->Mame Compiler->MameCompiler) 11. Click the [...] button to browse for the "Mame Source Folder" and point it to C:\MinGW\source\Mame0126u4 12. Click the [...] button to browse for the "Diff Patch File" and point it to C:\MinGW\patches\126u1.diff 13. Click the "Apply Patch" button. 14. Repeat step 12 for 0126u2.diff, 0126u3.diff and 0126u4.diff, then hi_126u4.diff 15. Put a tick next to the "Mame UI" option if your compiling MameUI 16. Press the "GO!" button to compile Mame 17. When it's finished compiling it should create a "mame.exe" file in the C:\MinGW\source\Mame0126u4 folder This is the error I keep getting. Deleting Object Folder... Compiling Mame... Using Parameters -j3 ARCHOPTS=-march=athlon64 mkdir.exe -p obj/windows/mame process_easy: DuplicateHandle(In) failed (e=6) process_easy() failed to launch process (e=6) mkdir.exe -p obj/windows/mame Counted 3 args in failed launch Finished! 0 Hours 0 Minutes and 0 Seconds Elapsed. I'm using a Vista Ultimate computer with an Athlon64 processor. The only thing left I can think of is user access permissions, which I granted myself, but have still left the dumb User Access Control system on, which I will soon turn off. Any idea on what is happening? Thanks in advance!
  7. NES www.jabosoft.com/jnes Current Version 1.0
  8. Nintendo 64 http://1964emu.emulation64.com/ Current Version 0.9.9
  9. I'm a bit confused about this too, because looking in the Advanced Config I see paths listed for them, and when I check the folder they are already there. The ones you have linked are a different date and size, so I wonder which ones are actually newer. Seems a lot of those sites aren't updated anymore...
  10. greatflash was right! The HiQ videos couldn't work cause of the FFDShow codecs. I installed the Vista Codec Pack and now those videos don't play choppy. http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Adva...load-55586.html
  11. The error is located here: 14:16:51.8 12/08/2008: Error: Emulator_7: RomPath is Invalid You have one of your directories for your roms invalid. Make sense?
  12. What are map files and OfflineList files for? I see these options in the GameEx Config and have searched the forums for "map" (which btw returned no results...odd) and Offline list dats. From what I gather it seems they are for having the proper name of the ROMS appear... but mine do anyway without these... so I don't know if it is an old feature or what... I also saw someone say that it can make the ROMS you don't have appear in a different color... if that is true that would be really handy.. Thanks for the noob lesson
  13. It is one of the plugins included with GameEx. Just go to Start > Programs > GameEx > Plugin Manager and you'll see the option that lets the program talk.
  14. www.emumovies.com is a site that has an FTP server you can purchase access to which has a lot of video snaps for many many emulators. The videos are divided into different folders. The ones I had downloaded that had caused me issues were in the HiQ folder because they weren't in the Standard Quality folder. I converted them from HiQ to SQ and uploaded them to the FTP server so others wouldn't have to do any conversion. Make sense? lmk
  15. There is a very nifty application you can use to find out what codec any video file requires and if it is installed on your system or not. Go to http://gspot.headbands.com/ to get the program.
  16. Would you mind zipping those up and e-mailing them to me? Maybe we can even add them to the Emumovies ftp server. Are we allowed to do that? Also, what naming system did you use?
  17. Turns out it was the High Quality Vids that were causing the problem... odd... I'd had figured my computer could handle it... I used Super to convert the videos to SQ. I'll see about uploading them to emumovies so they won't be missing.
  18. On the front page under the Other Downloads section get the FFDshow codecs.
  19. OH, that is what that's for! HA! Thanks
  20. Guess I'm interpreting it wrong... You mentioned a manualviewer program on the home page, but I don't see it. I see 3 websites, 2 work, one is in spanish, but I don't see any programs on them. Could I get more directions for dummies? Also, it looks like emumovies only has standard videos for N64 so that isn't the issue...
  21. Thx for the PDF thing. I'm using the HiQ videos. Did I mention they play fine in Windows Media Player? I'll start downloading the LowQ videos to a seperate folder. Any other ideas I could try?
  22. I don't know what happened, but about 3 days ago I guess I changed something in my config that caused the video previews for all systems to play back slowly. The audio plays at normal rate. Like for the 007 World Is Not Enough preview, the door is opened, then gunshots are heard, which doesn't catch up in the video until... ever I guess. I've attached my config file. I thought it could be a codec issue, so I updated the FFDShow from the one listed on GameEx site to 20080801. That caused GameEx to freeze but the audio to play for the video when the game was mouse-overed. I uninstalled that and used GSpot to make sure I have the right codec installed. These are all videos from emumovies. I installed XVID since that is what they are encoded in. Same issue as originally. I uninstalled the newer FFDShow and rebooted, then isntalled the older FFDShow from GameEx site. I defragged my HD because because of all the new videos I downloaded. I also downloaded all the cart scans, box scans, manuals, etc. Any ideas what could have happened? I have an MSI Motherboard with a built in ATI 1250 video card, two gigs of ram, and an Athlon 64 X2 4800+ processor. Another question: Now that I have the PDF manuals, I try to open them in GameEx, but it just returns back to the listing as though I didn't click on it... is there something else I need to enable? Thanks for all the help. Hope this is coherent enough for ya'll to understand. GameEx.zip
  23. I've been looking for something like this too Funny... I did a search for "artwork renamer" on Yahoo and came up with this site http://www.localarcade.com/screenshotarchi...nloads_apps.htm It has a program that uses a dat file to rename the files. How to use it, I dunno. Tell us if anyone figures it out!
  24. Funny how all these issues appear at the same time in threads. I just goodmerged all my romsets last night and now lost all the matching for snaps and videos! I thought there was a goodtool type application for renaming the images and stuff, but I am unable to find it. For now there is a guy who is doing it manually. He only has 2 systems done right now, but here is his site. http://www.hfc-essentials.net/gameex/goodmergeimages.php
  25. Why not just check the BookKeeping Info? To get to it in a game, hit Tab, scroll down to BookKeeping Info, and see what it shows for each coin slot. How to clear it, I dunno, this is just off the top of my head.
