Hi,

I have installed latest version of GameEx on a new machine, single machine, dual core plus hyperthreading.  I've installed the license key that I had from 2013.

When GameEx is running the cpu is completely maxed out and the interface is really sluggish.

I have tried some ideas from other forum threads - disabled all the performance integration with MCE etc.

Any thoughts?

Phil.

Since GameEx is now free and has been for some time, there is no need to enter a license key.

When reporting an issue, please attach a copy of your gameex.ini and log.txt files in reply to this thread and within your initial threads going forward. This will help us help you! Thanks.

The only thing that stands out to me is that you are using ArcadeVGA - I wonder if that is causing a bottleneck?

Could you explain specifically which ini item looks like a problem?

I don't have an ArcadeVGA card.

And in has these options.

ArcadeMode=False

UsingArcadeVGA=False

Apologies, I noted in the log file the entry below for the theme in use:

Using Theme: Default - ArcadeVGA Lo-Res

Do you recall what version you were on where this did not occur?

If you are on Windows 7, do you have the most recent .NET framework installed?

Are you using any codecs, such as LAV filters for any videos invoked?

I only installed it a couple of weeks ago on a brand new windows build.
Its behaved this way since it was installed.
CPU maxes as soon as gameex is started and interface is sluggish to the point of being slow.

Nothing in your log file shows an obvious clue. This may be specific to this rig and/or Windows install.

Is the Windows image a stripped down or light version of Windows 7? Are there any error showing in Event Viewer?

The issue is you have no accelerated video on your system. Looks like your missing a driver.

Adapter: Microsoft Basic Render Driver

Its not a GameEx issue, it looks like you didn't finish your new setup properly.
