I'm using screen 1 for my backglass, and screen 2 as my playfield.

I have a loading screen defined for PinballX.

When I launch PinballX, the loading screen initially pops up on my backglass. After one second, the loading screen jumps to monitor 2 (where it's supposed to be).

Not a major bug, just visually annoying.

Can you post a screenshot. (Or photo) of your windows display configuration ? I use loading videos and it shoes always on the correct display.

I'm using a static image BTW.

And yes, the image DOES show up on the correct monitor, the issue is that it FIRST pops up for a second on the wrong one. I guess PinballX initially uses screen 1 to show the loading image, and only switches to screen 2 after reading the config file.

You say that your screen number 1 is your backglass and screen number 2 is pf ?

Not sure if it still counts, but it was always the best practise to start the wi dows orders with pf.

Are you avle to change the screens (just drag and drop the screen), so you have from left to right pf (screen 2), bg (screen 1) and dmd (screen 3)

@Wimpie - asking again as you have opened several threads without providing attached copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files for review for issues you are reporting.

This helps us to better help you without having to ask first.

Thank you.

Both files are attached in one of my previous threads, but I've added them again here.

@Wimpie can you at least gove ot a try to swap the windows settings screens ? So not physically, but just the windows one.

I'm just curious if that would fix (not solve) your issue, so there is a work arround

The workaround is to use a black loading screen so the switch isn't visible. But a workaround isn't a bugfix:-)

I just wished there was a better way to report bugs, like a GitHub database or at least an email address to report these kind of issues.

PinballX.ini 5.81 kB · 0 downloads log.txt 2.95 kB · 0 downloads

Each thread is treated as a separate issue and we will not seek them out. Much can happen in resolving one issue that isn't seen in later files.

I hope you understand now why we ask for the most recent files for the issue reported.

I think all the main front ends recommend having the playfield screen as screen 1 and have it as the leftmost screen and primary screen in the display settings

I've never tried, but the screen number is probably less important than it being the primary screen and also being the leftmost screen. I'd try dragging screen 2 the left of screen 1 in display settings. But your choice..

There tends to be issues when the playfield is not screen 1. its always been that way. Sorry.

The affinity for screen 1 for the playfield has been this way since HyperPin and goes on to the other frontends and beyond. There are additional X-Y coordinates and calculations that address the locations of /on the other screens displayed. This is not a bug.

I think you will find swapping your playfield monitor will be far less troublesome for this and other possible issues when adjusting for DMD, topper monitors, etc.

As for reporting errors this was determined by the author to be the best place. Emails are hidden from public and lost. GitHub has its own drawbacks. Learn to work with what you have here.
