[RESOLVED] Some mame games not showing on gameex 18.50

Some of my games are missing when I use gameex. when I use mame.exe their all their. im new to this so not sure what I'm doing wrong.

First, thanks for several things - you are off to a good start 🙃:

• Opening a new thread
• Brief issue noted with the emulator and the app name and version
• More detail in message body along with the gameex.ini and log.txt files (which we prefer to be attached whenever reporting an issue)

There are a few things to consider when setting up GameEx, any emulators, ROMs stores, etc. The most important are trying to avoid running or storing in a location that typically have elevated permissions required for access. That said, my first suggestion is to move your ROM files from C:\Users\Slust\OneDrive\Desktop\roms to C:\MAME\roms or similar. 

Second (which may tie into the first issue above) the following error showed in your log.txt file. May be related, may not:

Third, within your GameEx.ini file, you have it set as follows for filtering:

Suggested changes using Setup Wizard:

• Change Use Game Filter to Yes
• Launch GameEx and Update List - see if the missing games (e.g., 1941;1942;1943, etc.) show in the list and are playable. Please note that I do not have these in my Game Filter and they show up and are playable. If not for you, then:
• Add the actual ROM names to the Don't Filter these Roms list - 1941;1941u;1941j;1941r1...etc and see if they show up after running Update List

Hopefully this helps. If not, please attach new copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt file for additional review. If it does work, please let us know.

Still cant see them. oh i using mame 2.54 and roms are 2.54 as well

Still seeing the odd exception in creating the MAME game list and the very short list update (usually much more than 90 seconds unless you have small ROMS collection).

I missed this one before, I am not sure if it may be part of the problem but...

I noticed that you did change your ROM path (good) but did not add any additional ROM names as DoNotFilterROMS=1941;1942;1943

Since you do not have much time invested in (customizing or adding other emulators) the frontend from what I can see in the remainder of the setup,I am going to suggest a complete uninstall of GameEx, restart the PC, then download and install GameEx anew, ensuring that GameEx is installed to c:\ and not within Program Files\ or Program Files (x86) or Desktop (OneDrive or otherwise).

I reinstalled windows 10 and it's all working now ty so much for everything

After a years of Windows 10 it really starts to make you realize that 7 was so much more stable.....or hid its bugs better anyway.
