which files should I download for:

video snap

video background 

from emumovies sync fore gameex arcade. I can see video themes but not the other two.

Not following your question/issue. So I will ask, are you an EmuMovies member (paid membership for access) to download certain content vie EmuMovies Sync?

yes i am a paid member.

when i open "available media" on emumovies sync there are a load of options, none of which say video snap or video background. There is a video theme and just a video one.

It easiest if you just configure this in the GameEx setup wizard and let it log in and pull them down for you. 

One of the great features of GameEx is that Tom created it so that it does all this work for you and makes adding emumovies content a snap. If you want specific content for a theme, then that's more of an individualized setup, the auto downloader will grab wheel art and snaps and static images of the titles.

You can combine this with the MAME EXTRAS content for a more complete experience that includes pcb's, manuals and other associated content.  This is project maintained by Antonio over at progetto snaps.

My machine now looks awesome with all the stuff going on. 
That’s mame and daphne sorted and I am chuffed.

im now going to add more arcade and console emulators as I have a lot of roms although a part of me thinks quit while you are ahead as I don’t want it to go wrong.

Good deal 

You can back up your gameex.ini as you add emulators and always fall back a version if something goes less than ideal.
