wheel and menu racing, like auto-fire

hello, everything is working great except when I press a flipper button, the wheel jumps 2-3 spaces and it is frustrating to load a specific game. also, menu buttons act the same. I'm sure it is an easy fix.

thanks,

Tim

Sounds like you have something double mapped (same button in use for page left/right as for left/reight, or joytokey is running and you also have keys mapped for input or something like that)

Can you attach your pinballx.ini file, thanks.

I had this behaviour twice with 2 differrent root cause :

1) I have a coin dipswitch and that was after I dropped a coin hanging.  Result that the swit h was giving a button press all the time and the wheel went crazy. Check in windows joystick configuration if you see a constant key press from another button.

2) I attached a Streamdeck device, that I use for extra buttons. It is some kind of keyboard that can be configured. But because my old pc had not enough usb ports, I connect the Streamdeck behind an USB hub. This caused the same issue.

It could be your configuration, software or whatsoever.

Logging and settings file looks good.

Can you describe your settup ? Hardware and software ?

Do you use tools like joytokey or something to map joystick to key mappings ? Or joy gremlin ?

Hi everyone,

Must have been a phantom "stuck button", I have noticed before, that issue. Without doing anything (maybe I moved wires around) the issue is gone!

Also, the issue was affecting my attract mode. I had no attract mode with the "stuck" button...

All is well now, you guys are great!

I appreciate the developer and forum help. There is much to learn, getting my cabinet working.

I am now a lifetime donor!

Thanks,

Tim

Nice it is working for you Tim.

A stuck button was my first option (coin switch). It causes headaches to me the forst I had it.

Open windows joystick settings where you see the buttons, and properly one button is lighted constantly.

Yes, it keeps happening though nothing is wired to this particular button.

Zeb's plunger V3 has been a joy to set up but a pain to implement though his DOF boards, lightbar and shaker work very well.

I'm considering a new plunger. Not sure which is most reliable but the zeb one needs to be fixed for sure
