Gun circuit board

I jus got a a arcade size setup of extreme trophy hunter 2 tournament edition.and everything works great except one major thing the guns don't work.  I can not tell if it's the guns themselves or it it's the gun circuit board. I'm a noob basically when it comes  circuit boards. Is there any way knows how I can figure out what the issue is.

This may sound like a stupid question, and in the interest of disclosure I have no information about this game, other that it involves guns.

Somebody didn't replace the CRT display with an LCD one, did they???
