If I have it as another custom system

Zaccaria Pinball change your menu and the pinball x dont load the tables.

is it possible to correct?

I didn't check the cabinet yet, but the release notes say it fixed the cabinet. As they have a direct table launch, I'm not sure what's wrong.

Is the direct table launch working for you from the command line?

The direct table launch is not working  from the command line.

Now a seizure warning appears, and I can’t get the game to start directly into a table. It keeps launching in offline mode I wanna keep it off-line.

If it doesn't start from command line, you best can create a ticket at zaccaria. Maybe they changed parameters or something

Edit : did you talk about update 106.0 from last Friday,  106.1 from Tuesday or 106.2 from yesterday, as 106.2 should have a fix for cabinet users

I am talking about 106.2 from yesterday. Pinball X has to fix the script for Zaccaria Pinball to work.

Sorry for my late response as my cabinet is not fully operated yet. But, I updated to 106.2 as well and direct launch (and from PinballX is working fine.)
Will this works for you ?

steam -applaunch 444930 -skipmenu "Time Machine 2019"

My steam folder is located in my pinball directory, so I need to launch it like this :

This is the example of Joyrider on the first page and it is still working.
If you use still use the old option from PinballX that will do the keypresses to go to the table, remove that and use this

You can also user Joyrider his FX3Launcher (which is just a launcher) and set the parameters to Zaccaria.
with custom images, it can show you something like this :
image.png.ed5656f7c28ab2406a1bfb9a9034073a.png

and it will launch the table you selected , with the extra option from this menu

Same issue here, guess because of OFFLINE mode, the direct launch doesn't "START GAME" automatically, it just loads the table, but not really, because you then need to go to the menu, select a table, and then START GAME. Defeats the purpose of direct launch.

On commandline, i use the following: -skipmenu "table name" -skipmenu_player 1 -skipmenu_gamemode classic_simulation -offline. It used to work perfectly, now with the new GUI versions, stopped working.

And yes, I'm using even the latest "cabinet fixed" 106.3 update version, same issue.

I'm sorry buddy, but if command line doesn't work anymore (which should work in the past) you must ask the vendor. This is not PinballX related but zaccaria.

You update the cab kast week to latest version, why you are working offline and not online ? If online works?

Posted

I play offline simply because my cab is in the garage is not online, and never will be, guess similar reason as @halen above, i want it to stay offline.

Also, FWIW, just posting this here for those Zaccaria players using any frontends, I know this is definitely not a PinballX issue, so bear with me ;)

Offline definitely has issues (more on this later), and even though this is not how I normally play, I fired Zaccaria on my main rig last night, and ran the following tests:

- Having ONLINE enabled and issuing a commandline like steam.exe -applaunch 444930 -skipmenu "Time Machine" is not as annoying as navigating multiple menus when in offline mode, but is not seamless as it used to be with older builds either (next point will elaborate). The table doesn't fall into a playable state, it still expects you to choose "START GAME", which, even if it's only one step, it's still a downgrade from previous builds when using frontends, experience-wise.

- But issuing a more complete commandline like steam.exe -applaunch 444930 -skipmenu "Time Machine" -skipmenu_player 1 -skipmenu_gamemode classic_simulation works as intended, with the only annoyance being to wait for table tasks and online sync waiting. If you play online, and fast internet, this shouldn't be an issue.

- Playing OFFLINE definitely is a severe downgrade to the user experience if you use frontends only, because otherwise, if you are just launching Zaccaria by itself, you pick a table and start a game, or if you have your rig/cab online, your experience shouldn't be different than on older builds, other than a new GUI and added Star Phoenix Deluxe table option.

Bottom line, yes, this is on Zaccaria to "fix", but I'm not sure if they'll want to. Why? They moved to a new system using their servers to sync licensing, achievements, etc., so this might well be "intended" behavior, they want people to just play ONLINE, not offline, reasons could be that migration to their servers, but also to curb piracy. This is understandable in my opinion.

They do allow and have worked to fix Steam Deck compatibility to play offline, if you're on the road without network access, but the game still expects ONLINE syncing periodically to sync licensing, scores, etc., and it's not like you run a frontend from the Steam Deck, so this is fine. This is what puts the nail on the coffin to OFFLINE-only players, at least if you play from a frontend, and I doubt they'll change their logic regarding ONLINE just for those frontend users who on top have their cabs OFFLINE all the time...

Anyway, hope this is helpful for others looking for answers, and thanks Mike for the replies.

I noticed this week zaccaria has gotten new tables and modes and so and been playing it a bit on my pc (not on my cabinet) so I've updated my steam guide, to add the newly added table names to the list as well as commandline parameters for the vr mode (provided by steam user mickey) as well as added the timeloop game mode info. Just for what it's worth these are the ones i added and may need to be added to the xml's of pinballx if people have not done so already.

I've bought them in the sale also and have been playing the quests and tournaments a lot.

No i don't have a new xml, i have not booted my pinball cabinet in a long time but i do enjoy playing zaccaria and pinball fx from time to time on my pc or steamdeck. I thought i would mention the changes i did normally thats what different with the current xml (unless maybe also the postal table not sure those were added already in the xml i had). but i have not been doing anything with my cabinet, i find i can play better and reach higher scores with my controller (especially when it comes to nudging tables)

I’ve forwarded the discussion to one of the Zaccaria developers:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2545556227

The main point raised was about offline play. Many cabinet users don’t keep their machines permanently connected to the internet, and in those cases direct table launch can sometimes trigger multiple dialogs. This can be frustrating, especially for players in regions where internet access is limited, metered by KB, or still relies on older DSL/phone connections.

Hopefully this feedback helps highlight the importance of a more reliable offline mode, so that cabinet owners and players with restricted connectivity can enjoy Zaccaria Pinball without interruptions. Fingers crossed the devs consider adding improvements for offline users in a future update!
