As I get older I notice tinkering with things increases, along with the need for tools to do it with.

I thought it would be cool to have a thread to share where we obtain such items, for those of that do any way.

iFixit is a good site and if you're looking for a good assortment of prepackaged sets, then they got you covered there too.

Digi-Key - the go to source for capacitors IMO

Newark - who acquired the company I was using, but they're still a good resource that's perhaps a bit on the pricier side.

That first link is cool, but I'm not about to drop $70 bucks on a tool set like that.  I bought a similar one (without all the screwdriver bits) for like $5.  Don't remember if it was from Amazon or Harbor Freight.

I picked up a few things from them, mostly because I needed some flush cutters after snapping the tip of mine.  This is one tool I have to have!  If there is a sharp cable tie edge, I'll find it, or one of my fingers will, is more like it.

A spudger kit and tweezers kit, mostly because I've been swapping PC's to different cases and had just experienced of bunch of dropped screws and fan headers I couldn't reach due to heat sinks.  I got tired of using bamboo skewers, and it seems something always comes up unexpected, like the failed power supply I had completely installed and neatly cable manged.

I can see the need to source some kits. I have bought a few over the years. Some have walked, others misplaced in the black hole known as my garage, aka the kid's dumping place of all things they couldn't take when they moved out.

This is changing and I will finally have some bench area to call my own with the abilitly to setup temporary bench space as needed for projects. This will be good as I am running out of space in my office which is now my full time work from home space for the forseeable future with my company. So, tinker space for PC assembly projects in the garage is a must. My goal is to have the garage managed before summer hits so that gives me about 2 months as Florida summer starts in April and lasts through October. :o
