Pindmd display question

Hey all. Having display problems with my pindmdv3 with certain tables and hoping perhaps someone might have had these in the past. Two separate problems:

1) certain tables such as CFBL and AFM are displaying flush as seen below. Seems to only be happening with just a handful of tables..but my fave ones..lol

2) Getting a reset of the display about 1 min in with a few of my Ultradmd tables. Specifically AMH and now Stranger Things. It reboots and then fails.

Would really appreciate any direction or ideas. Thanks again!

Last time you mentioned it was caused by your puppack.

Do you have the latest firmware of your pindmdv3 ?

Are those tables with a *.vni file for colour animation ?

What version of freezy dmddevice.dll do you run ? 

I have a pindmdv3 as well. Dont have the issue that you have. I upgraded the firmware via https://github.com/freezy/dmd-extensions/issues/119

Do you have the issue only launching from pbx, or also outside pbx ?

You will also want to get in the habit of attaching a copy of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files whenever reporting an  error or problem! 

While there are some things we can quickly diagnose and provide assistance without, invariably, we end up asking for it and, sometimes, the answer was there all along and would have saved us hours of second guessing. Thanks!

Sorry all, wee bit of a newbie. So I am running he latest pindmdv3 firmware from a few months ago. Also running Freezy 1.8.1 and Vpmame 3.3. They are tables with .Nvi for color animation. Same issues from launching from PBX as well. Here are the logs I believe you asked for. Thanks again for the help!

So,  not a PinballX issue, but also outside.

Try to use it without a vni file (so the plain rom file).

Did I understand you used puppack as well ? Try to minimized all for testing. Just the rom, vpx and b2s file

Hmmm... and if you uncheck to use the external dll and shows the virtual dmd ?

If you still have it, your vpinmame is screwed, if not, you have an issue with freezy dll

Thanks Mike again for the help? Where would I check to make sure I unchecked the external dll? It’s just so odd as I am only having problems with those two games in the flush, and the two ultra DMD tables with the DMD crash...everything else works perfect.

Ultra dmd doesn't use vpinmame, and the common part is dmddevice.dll (I asume) 

Let's first focus on afm . Launch table, press f1 and vpinmame is ahowing.

Uncheck the externall dll and check the virtuall dmd

This will stop displaying it on your real dmd and shows a window somewhere on your screen with the dmd.

If this shows fine, you need to try another version of freezy dmddevice.dll (1.8 or even 1.7.1)

Mike that did the trick! Reinstalled Freezy 1.7, replaced ROMS, and all is working. Now just the reboot Ultradmd problem and all will good in the world.

Not sure what version you have of ultradmd but Tom did some fixes last year;

Don't think it will be in the VPX all in one installer if you installed from that. Try updating if so..

Didn't look for a while at ultradmd, but I'm sure it uses freezy's dmddevice.dll as well.

Are all dmdultra tables having issues, or also some specific tables ?

Hey all, so I got tired of messing with Ultradmd and just installed Flexdmd....still same problem with AMH. Other tables are fine it appears. Going to try to reinstall the table and delete the color option...I did notice when installing Flex that it mentions I have two versions of dmddevice.dll. Could perhaps that be the problem? Wil try updating the older one...

So updated all the dmddevice.ini files, reinstalled the table...still no luck. Could it be the brighter flashes crashes the Pindmd? Love this table so much and hoping to figure the out...

Do you have the same issue with AMH as woth AFM ? Or is the isdue different ?

Hey Mike. So with AFM I was getting a flush DMD. Finally deleted the existing ROM and replaced with another and it did the trick. With AMH the DMD crashes about 1 min in...

What AMH images are you using (the ulltra dmd folder 'America's Most Haunted.UltraDMD' files), the ones that came with the table or have you updated any... and did you reinstall those with the AMH table?  Long shot but maybe you just have a bad/corrupt gif file

So I went on Thalamus’ repository and downloaded the most current AMH and it did the trick! Thanks all so much for all ur help!!
