VPX monitor/pindmdv3 sudden insanity...any advice would be so appreciated.

Hey all! Was using a pinball X database mgr to collect some media files and everything sort of went crazy. Now the playfield is on the topper screen, the backglass is on the playfield monitor and my pindmdv3 is not being recognized. Oddly enough, the Pindmd works with ultra tables. I also reconfigured future pinball, fx3, and v9 to work correctly, but can’t get the VPX to work correctly. Tried everything and could so use some help. Would be so greatly appreciated!! I have included config, etc. Thank you!

Thank you all so much for your help! Here are the Ini and txt files requested. pbx is mixed up and VPX is as well. Popper is correct, and as I mentioned VP9, FP, and FX 2/3...

Seriously you guys are a lifesaver!

You use an very old version of pbx (4.06)

If vp9 os correct, I think you need to adjust vpx as well. Check vpx config and your directb2s config

How is your windows setup as well ?

Mike, thanks again for the help! I have messed with both the config settings on VPX and directb2s to no avail. Should I update the PBX and, while I am at it, update VPX as well? I am totally at my wits end...;)

I have included Direct Output log and the most current B2S server error log in hopes that these may help..

Btw, the Pinball X Database Mgr appears to be where all the problems started when I was doing a full media audit...

The Best,

Chris

Hey Chris,

Databasemanager is doing a lot of things, but 1 thing it doesn't is changing displays :P. Not for PBX and not for vpx.

Not sure what version you have of vpx, but I hope 10.6

Make a screenshot of your windows display settings (screen setup) , a screenshot of your  vpx screen setup and a screenshot of your b2sserver setup. Maybe we can find whats going on

PinballX screen settings look odd. Relevant parts;

[Topper]
monitor=2

[Display]
Monitor=3

[BackGlass]
monitor=2

From your picture it looks like the playfield ([Display]) should be monitor 2, Topper should be 3 and backglass  don't know, maybe 1 (but definitely not the same number as Topper. Try changing those number im Settings.exe, Display section.

You do have AutoPositionB2S=True set so i'm hoping once the screen config is sorted out in PinballX that will then copy over to VPX.  I've no idea about the DMD driver error (i'm a virtual DMD user), but take things one thing at a time.

So, i'd suggest updating PinballX and post a screenshot of your windows display settings as suggested by Mike, then try changing the display numbers around.

(database manager won't have done anything with your screens, but maybe there was a windows update or something that messed the numbering up)

Hey all, updated VPX to 10.6.  Here is a screenshot of windows display setup. Will keep messing with settings. Again,  cant tell you how much I appreciate the help!
btw, looks like it was a windows update that is the cause of the problem...:)

So all is working for you ?

And where you still using vpx version 10.5 with pbx 4.06 ? I hope you have all latest releases now !

Did you buy the system with these version, or you didn't update the software since last year ?

Still not working alas. Upgraded but still not working correctly. Going to keep messing with the VPX screen settings and hope I get it right...

Try changing your screen numbers around in settings for PinballX as i suggested above, if you can get PinballX working right VPX will be easier after. Don't worry too much if the screen numbers in PinballX don't match the windows screen numbers, that can happen.

Also, make sure you playfield screen is still set as the primary display in windows.

Hey all, got all the displays finally set up properly, but now these are popping up on my VPX and VP9 tables. Active X problems in PinMame. Haven’t had this problem before...any help would rock!

Hard to say without knowing your pc

Did these games work before l?

You upgraded visual pinball right ?

Do you have the rom (and is that working properly ?) Test pinmame rom to check of you have issues with the rom

Are there any .vbs scripts in your table directory ?

Are all the components of vp installed correctly ?

Are these old tables that has a 3 option for the backglass ?
