methodman Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 log.txtWhen I enter GAmeEx on Windows 10 the moust won't stop scrolling and let me pick the choice I want. Any ideas? Thanks GameEx.ini
Draco1962 Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Can you attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files, please? Also, letting us know what you have attached for inputs (i .e., mouse, keyboard, IPAC, 360 game controller, etc.) may help minimize second guessing.
methodman Posted August 1, 2020 Author Posted August 1, 2020 I have an x-Arcade joystick as my primary controller. Also I have an Azza mouse also.
Draco1962 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Can you try disabling Touchscreen? Per your gameex.ini it is enabled and, unless you are using touchscreen controls it should not be enabled. Entry as it appears within gameex.ini: EnableTouchScreen=True Let us know if this works.
Draco1962 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 1 hour ago, Tom Speirs said: Sounds like you enabled trackball support. It does show enabled in the gameex.ini: TrackballSupport=True @methodman try disabling this as well as touchscreen support (via the Setup Wizard or directly modifying the gameex, ini and changing the True value to False for each. Please report back with your results. Thanks.
methodman Posted August 1, 2020 Author Posted August 1, 2020 I do have a trackball on x-arcade which I would like to use for Centipede, and Marble Madness, that shouldn't matter should it?
Draco1962 Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 The trackball on the Tankstick is treated as a mouse, not a true trackball. Try it.
methodman Posted August 2, 2020 Author Posted August 2, 2020 OK I am having the same issue. When I vertically try to select a menu item. The mouse pointer moves up to the top of the list. I turned the touchscreen off. I couldn't find the trackball turn off. But I have the treackball as part of the x-arcade and I would like to be able to use it. I made these changes and shut it off
Draco1962 Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Additionally, I found this to be most useful in setting up MAME to utilize the Tankstick best. After setting up MAME following the instructions on the X-Arcade site at that link, change your MAME options in Advanced MAME Settings to read: -nowindow -video d3d -noswitchres -triplebuffer -skip_gameinfo -ctrlr x-arcade
Draco1962 Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Just to add I have a Tankstick and these settings recommended to you work perfectly. I use my joysticks to navigate, buttons to select, and the trackball works in all games that have one. Your default MAME settings within MAMEUI should show a mouse as your trackball device, but you shouldn't even have to worry about that.
methodman Posted August 5, 2020 Author Posted August 5, 2020 Thank you, I've tried all these settings and my mouse vertically moves up. It won't focus and stop on any line. Could that be a hardware glitcch
Draco1962 Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Could be bad USB port(s), your Azza mouse, or the Tankstick, so start the process of elimination. Unplug the mouse. Launch GameEx. Does the issue occur?Tankstick. If no, plug it back in, but to a different USB port. Repeat until you've exhausted available ports. Unplug the mouse. Launch GameEx. Does the issue occur? If yes, repeat the above steps with the Tankstick. If happening for both mouse or Tankstick on specific port(s) then it could be a USB controller issue. Ensure you have up to date drivers. If possible, see if your motherboard manufacturer has issued any recently instead of Microsoft drivers. Best of luck. Chasing down these things can take time and patience.
tthurman Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Try this: Go to "Mouse Properties" "Pointer Options" tab uncheck "Enhance pointer precision" Apply OK Also, does it do this with the mouse unplugged? Have you tried depressing the wheel several times to ensure it's not hung in the scroll position? Go to device manager and check for driver updates on the mouse.
methodman Posted October 15, 2020 Author Posted October 15, 2020 Thanks Draco, I decided to buy a different computer, so I reset that one to give a way to a local nonprofit and am now setting up Gameex on this new computer. I got frustrated with the old one but it waas 7 years old.
