Hi, I had a couple issues after I ran update list yesterday, (it removed Tempest and a few others for an unknown reason), so I got curious is there is a log file created by the update list action from GameEx, but I'm not seeing anything in the GAMEEX\LOG directory. Does this exist?

Thanks!

Disable touchscreen support if you're not using it and update again.

You have it enabled in the last gameex.ini  you submitted.

@tthurman I recently disabled touch screen support, ( day before yesterday to be exact, gameex.ini attached).

@Tom Speirs I don't see any mention of the update list in my most recent log.txt, I'll re-run it again this afternoon, do you know any references I can look for to see the update list actions?

You've still not disabled touchscreen. You got it on Auto which means if you have anything resembling touch input it will be on.. Just turn it off to be sure please. Just go into the setup wizard and turn it  off.

My mGameEx.iniistake, (looking at the wrong touch screen setting), I've disabled it now, (updated gameex.ini attached). I also just ran list update again, (don't appear to be any changes this time around), and I see these entries in the log.txt, (also attached):

Looks correct. I can see you disabled verify and enabled only existing. I understand someone recommended you do that though. Worth reversing that. You also need the roms to match your MAME version. They do change all the time. Cant help you there.

What else did you do or change prior to games disappearing?

I've reversed those settings. I've got a rom set that matches my MAME version, (0.219), so I'm good there, it was just the listing in GamEx that was missing games.

If my notes are correct and complete, I think it was actually those settings that were changed, that caused my favorites list to have games removed. I've not noticed anything missing since I just ran it, so I think I'm good. I was mostly curious if there were detailed logs on the "update" functions.

Thanks Tom!

Tom,

I just noticed I'm missing the trackball versions of Cabal, any ideas how to get them back on MAME > All Games?

Try identify the ROM names, put them in the Dont Filter These ROMS with each ROM name separated by semi-colon ; (no spaces between or file extensions -  i.e., cabal;cabal2). Then launch GameEx and select Update List.

Adding to the don't filter and then running update list brought it back.

Thanks @Draco1962
