I have a 43 "set at 1680x1050 in windows and a 32" as a backglass set at 1280x720. Pc: amd a6 3600mhz, integrated video card radeon HD 7540D IGP, 8gb RAM. PinbalX works well by entering the visual pinballx tables set at 1920x1080 but even if I set the playfields to 1680x1050 I have the same problem that when I push the button to exit the emulator and re-enter the front end pinballx freezes everything and remains freeze the pc, i can only exit by ending pinballx through ctrl / alt / delete. If I use pinballx LITE everything works perfectly, however, so I don't have the backglass in the presentation of the tables !! How can I solve it? (it's very strange that with pinballx lite everything works correctly !!)

Please attach (no copy and paste or zip files) copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files in reply to this thread for review and any time you report an issue. Thank you.

I suspect your system (GPU) may be a little light, but there are a couple of things in your ini file that may be a factor.

In Settings.exe -> Display Settings you have Use DirectB2S in Front End enabled and DMD Enabled = True. Try changing both those settings, it may help...

I tried different settings changing setting.exe but nothing changes. I remain doubtful that the problem is the video card because the pinball machines all work and pinballx lite always does its duty without any problem!! The built-in video card I set it with 4gb. I ordered anyway a sapphire rx 550 4gb to do the test. Any other ideas?

You note in your title v4.33. Please upgrade to the latest 4.34 and report back with updated pinballx.ini and log.txt files. If the issue resolves withe the latest version, please report back with your positive results as well. Thanks!

Pinballx lite will run on very low specs (see https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/16004-news-pinballx-198/)

Are there any difference in compatibility settings or run as administrator for pinballx and pinballx lite on your setup?

I also did these tests but nothing changes. I have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit could this be the problem?

Here are the 2 ini files after testing with the new 4.34 version. Note that any version I install the pinballx does not start if I do not overwrite the pinmame files "dmddevice.dll" and "dmddevice64.dll" in folder of pinballx. Unlike before now when I push ctrl / alt / canc now between processes the pinballx I don't see it blocked and it remains with the blue written screen "pinballx" and I can not help but close it from the active processes. Seems like pinballx can't close the dmd!?!

Note that to do this test I did not uninstall version 4.33 but I installed 4.34 above it in the same folder.

Are you using a real DMD? ..  it's not in the pinballx log

I use a normal dmd that I placed on the backglass on the same screen (2) actually I don't even know what a "real DMD" is, that's because I posted that "xdmd.log" file. Maybe I activated somewhere by mistake "real DMD" and then when pinballx in search it does not really exist and therefore it freezes ?! Could it be or am I saying a nonsense !?

You're better off using videos,Instead of the b2S

Turn off the following in pinballx.ini

AutoPositionB2S=True
UseB2S=True

AutoConfigure=True

And retry

Done but pinballx always hangs on closing

Sorry, cannot see why it is hunging.

Is it really hunging, or when pressing alt tab you see pinballx running ?

Is it terminating the emulator that is running ?

Did you try to run pbx as admin ?

If it is freezing, do you see anything in tbe eventlog ?

Pinballx not running in compatability mode ?

 When I press the valid button to exit the table, it does not return to Pinballx: the table closes the visual pinball emulator and remains a black screen with Pinballx blocked, on the process management Pinballx is blocked and I have to force the closure. Then the emulator terminates it but Pinballx no longer starts.
 I tried as an administrator but nothing changes.
I attach the log file again
I'm desperate I don't know what to do anymore !!

@Tom Speirs

You have any idea ? According to the log, pinballx is hunging after the escape key is pressed

I made a screenshot of resource management after the block: it is understood that it is the backglass that goes to block and does not allow PinballX to start again.

I also set mame. SAME THING: Pinballx enters the selected mame game and then crashes when I want to go back to Pinballx. Again if my Pinballx lite is working all right !! ??

The problem remains even now that I have installed a radeon sapphire rx 550 and I am still with only one monitor because I do not yet have the dvi / hdmi adapter for the backglass. The problem that does not reopen me PinballX out of an emulator always remains even if I exit a mame game .. It freezes and remains the black screen ... in resource management it gives me pinballx and backglass that are not responding. I also tried with the penultimate version of pinballx, now I have the latest one but nothing changes. The absurd thing is that with pinballX lite everything works ... but I have many limitations including the backglass in table presentation. The key I use to exit is the exit button described in pinballx settings. HELP I'M KICKING UP !!!

I think everyone is trying their best to help you solve your issue. Yours is unique thus far in that nobody is able to replicate the issue baded upon the info you are providing.

Now you are indicating that you have only one monitor so that adds to some confusion.

Please be patient as everyone tries to help as they have time to do so.

Ok sorry. Anyway now I had used only one monitor to make it clear that the problem is independent of the fact that I have 1 or 2 monitors ...

Maybe you did select pin2dmd support during pinballx install as i don't think you should have those files in you pinballx directory when running a virtual dmd

Safest way to check is install pinballx in a new directory to test (you can delete later), don't select to install pin2dmd support. Copy your database folder and ini file across to the new install and let us know if the issue is still present.
