AgentJohnnyP
Hi all! I'm a big fan of your PinballX front end so I wanted to give the GameEx Evolution a try. I grabbed the latest version and did the install but I don't seem to have the Display section in my Setup Wizard as described in your documentation. Since I have a 2 monitor setup for pinball (backglass 1280x1024 and playfield 1360x768) I wanted to run the GameEx menu in on the backglass and have the various games running on the playfield monitor. I'll need to be able to modify the games from 0 - 90% rotation to fit on the playfield correctly, which I can deal with later. Right now I need the Display menu to at least start, any thoughts? Logs/screenshot attached. EDIT: I've attempted a clean uninstall (removed the 4 registry entries I could find + files) a few times and same menu. I just thought for sure the first time I went through it, Display was there... could be totally mistaken though. Thanks! tthurman
What documentation are you referring to? As far as I know Evo defaults to your system resolution. Although I can see the obvious benefit from from what you are after, I don't think it's an option at this particular time and release, but would be a great feature & enhancements request. I suspect your best bet would be to configure PinballX to incorporate MAME, since it already supports displays in this fashion.
AgentJohnnyP
Thanks for the reply! I was looking at the documentation here: https://www.gameex.com/setup-wizard-configuration-guide/ I suspect then that this is for the older GameEx release and not the Evolution release. Having MAME running is cool, but I'm actually after the Daphne support for the laserdisc games (and every other console I've got lol). Like the idea of a front end running it all to select instead of a bunch of separate apps. Any idea if the older GameEx front end would be worth loading to try? Thanks again! Any version of GameEx, including EVO can achieve those results, the multiple display issue is likely to be the problem across the board though. I can't say that I recall anyone running consoles on a pincab, but that's not to say it's not possible. You might want to give this a read and see if it offers insight. AgentJohnnyP
It's really a matter of convenience (and doing something during lock-down) that I wanted to load my emulators on the pinball. I just ended up making a controller for my make-shift pinball machine and thought it would be double fun (and save on space) to include pinball/arcade in the same cabinet. I've been testing out more with GameEx EVO and it's really more a matter of getting the individual emulators positioned where I want. Most stick where I place them, while others jump to full screen. Just need to look through each emulators config/arguments and adjust accordingly. FINALLY got Daphne working and figured out CLRMAMEPRO over all this so very well worth the time I'll check out the article, thanks for sharing and here's a pic of my current Franken-PinArcade machine for reference lol

AgentJohnnyP
Well sweet! Thanks for the props guys. I've done a few YouTube's of my progress to share with my family/friends during lock-down, I'll add an entry to the post you mentioned and include there. This really has been bubbling in my head for over a decade now so it's good to finally do something about it. I'm good at creating write-ups/guides (tech Professor lol) so I'll definitely put something together as time permits. Cheers and thanks for the tips!
