Just built a new PC for the cab, and I cant get PBX to work at all. It installs fine, and I have copied the  .ini, config files from a back up, and it should be working fine. I have installed it this way in the past and it just worked. But not now.

Cant get into settings, and when you run PBX, the menus for browsing are working, but tables wont load. Dont even get the "loading window", and it also appears to freeze and I am not able to close out. If I alt/tab, I see two PBX's running. I also cant get into the manager. Sheesh.

Have uninstalled, reinstalled. Tried 64bit/32 bit. Just dont get it.

Is there a cleaner tool to clean the registry. I can only assume something in there could be the issue. Again this is a brand new system, and everything else appears to be working.

Ccleaner is the only one that comes to mind.  Are any logs being generated? Anything useful from event viewer?

why not ? Do you get an error when launching settings.exe ?

Maybe you have pbx load on startup ? Pbx not set to run on compatibility mode ?

Does it just don't launch, or give an error ?

How about Database manager ? Is that loading ?

Not sure if a cleaner will help. As far I'm aware is that pbx just save some registry keys for gameex online. Not for running the program itself. Most is setup via pinballx.ini and the xml's as databases.

There is a togglestartatwindows.exe in the pbx dir. Doesn't show anything, but think that adds pinballx.exe to run or startup.

Please post your logfiles and pinballx.ini to check if all is fine.

If program is freezing, do you see any eventlog message ?

Okay some progress. But thing still seem to be very erratic.

-Settings will now open up

-PBX will run

-I can browse the tables

-I can select a table

What is not working:

-Cant exit a table and return to the browsing menu. It seems to hang with a black screen, and I have to restart the PC. Again I am using the .ini, configs etc from the prvious PC, that worked flawless.

Tried admin. Issue remains.

Noticed that it take a bit longer for "loading" to appear, once a table is chosen. Never seeing any errors. So the big issue now is I cant return to the PBX browser menu. Still hangs. Also using the latest rev of PBX too. No prior installations.

Log attached.

Many thanks for the help guys. :)

Greatly appreciated.

Not sure what's happening.. does the same occur if you run an EM table?

(just wondering if pinballx is calling pinemhi on exit table for SS tables and there's a problem there)

Noticed you have fullscreen exclusive set per the log file. Not sure if it will help but can you try setting PinballX to fullscreen windowed and launching the same table again and attaching an updated log?

Its now working correctly. I did another PBX re-install, and added the LAV filters. I use PF videos and maybe the lack of the LAV filters was causing all the fuss. Now its working perfectly like with my last PC.

Thanks all for the help. :)
