stephenp1983
For me I am at a place where I'm content with what I have. I forsee more issues with upgrading that I do keeping it the way it is. The new video changes don't really interest me either.
hansolo77
I saw the roms were available a few days ago. I didn't grab them or anything cause I was waiting for the official release announcements. Guess it's time now. Oh one quick question, to Tom mostly. Is there a new .LAY format of the GameEx bezel yet? Since 107 the MAME guys built a new renderer which makes the GameEx bezel artwork no longer work. In fact, if you have it turned on, MAME won't even run. I'd still like to use it for the vertical games that don't have bezel art yet.
headkaze
Anyone else have trouble with 109? GameEx returns back to the menu for me.
firebrand_X
Anyone else have trouble with 109? GameEx returns back to the menu for me.I'm using Mame Plus! 1.09 and everything is 99% 'GO'. Some games (Marvel vs Capcom) have always been giving me that same problem; which game are you trying to run (if any)?
headkaze
I always just test with 1942 cos it's top of the list, but I tried a few others and same thing. I just replaced the 108 exe back and it's working again. I think I'll wait for Tom to check things out before I bother with the update.
TX_TRINITY
I updated my roms and the mamepp.exe and had no problems as yet. Saying that I've only played like 3 or 4 games and may still have the same problem. Is the 1942 loading artwork/bevel when it tries to launch, you could disable artwork in the config and see if that solved anything. Just a notion really.EDIT: Just tried to launch 1941 & 1942 and guess what. Same happening here. Going to try various things to try. Let you know how I'll get on. headkaze
Okay working now in 0.109. It was that bloody bezel issue again. I just happened to be unlucky enough to test it with a vertical game
hansolo77
This is exactly what I was talking about. Tom's bezel artwork for GameEx doesn't work with the new versions of MAME. They are rendered in a different format. When you have bezels enabled in GameEx, MAME can't render them and it crashes MAME back to GameEx. Somebody needs to sit down for a couple minutes and write out the xml for the new .lay render. I don't understand it or I'd do it myself, but it's only like 4 lines. Ecomorph
Perhaps we could ask for Mr. Do's help...Mr. Do's ArtworkIf you would like to help add to the existing artwork, but are intimidated by constructing the .lay file, don't worry. All we need is the artwork; we can take care of the rest. Feel free to send any artwork to...This is exactly what I was talking about.
