Re-visited this today. Using up to date PinballX and plugin. Comments still are not displaying at all. Made sure not to use GameManager (as that deletes the comments on the XML file).

I only have Game Name and Comments ticked. Game name shows on my 3rd screen but no comments. It does display in correct font/colour. Comments are there within the XML file in the same format as Game name.

Hmm, maybe i missed something in my tests..  Can you zip up and attach your PBXStatsDisplay.ini and PBXStatsDisplay_log.txt from your Pinballx\plugins folder as well as a copy of your database xml file and i'll have a look. Thanks.

Thanks for the offer to help Scutters. But I've figured it out... me being a n00b. I wasn't adding comments properly. I was ending the line with <comment/> instead of </comment>.

Sorry about that.

Why don't you use DBM to fill in the comment ?

I just started using DBM yesterday and I already prefer it over Game Manager. So yeah I'll look into that.

DBM does allow multiline comments :). But the stats plugin won't allow different fonts if you want the text displayed to be fancy (It would need some kind of markup language within the xml, and wouldn't work for the DMD display options where font choices are limited). Best the stats plugin could do would be a mix of upper and lower case letters in the text, so using uppercase instead of bold for titles etc.

New version now available, V2.0 (zip file & notes in updated in first post).

Adds more display options (ticker style and scroll speeds) and more data fields from IPDB (which can be populated using database manager).

Thanks for all the testing @Mike_da_Spike

Updated firmware on my playfield LCD and now I can't see stats on backglass.  Didn't change any of the settings in the ini file, but I think the Windows screen assignments may have been changed from 1 for the playfield to 2.  My ini file for the stats2.0 plugin shows an x axis position of about 5350 which typically put the stats right on the lower right corner of the backglass.  Now, anything over the x axis max of the playfield (i.e., 3840)  doesn't show up at all anywhere.

UPDATED:  Fixed by making my playfield the only display.  Apply settings.  Then extending that monitor so that backglass monitor is on the right for "extending the display"  My backglass had moved to the left in Windows Display Settings.

Thanks for the update with the fix. It makes sense as the plugin works from the relative position of the full desktop (all screens), so would be affected by the screens positions being changed in windows.

Hey mate, glad to see you again. I was wondering, Is there a way to see those statistics outside Pinball X. I mean, if i would like to check them now and then, could be possible. In the file there are so many numbers, and the time played Is in seconds, and they are not sorted.

Hello there!

The statistics plugin gathers data from PinballX and Database Manager. If you wish to view this data outside of PinballX, you will need to combine the sources.

I'm not entirely sure where or how you would like to see this data, but it may be necessary to create a new program for this purpose. Alternatively, most of the information is displayed in Database Manager, with the exception of a few values. If you are using Database Manager and would like to see the missing values, please let us know and we maybe add them.

thanks mike for the support. i dont even know what database manager is. i dont want too many whistles and bells on my vpin ahahahaha thats why i stick with pinball x. just would like to see most played table now and then. and dont want to see them on backglass or wherever everytime vpin boots up with pinball x

You can use pinemhi leaderboard (http://pinemhi.com/vp.php) outside PinballX to view your hi scores for rom tables online, but it does require registering for (free) and setting up (https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=44580&hl=)

However if all you want is to occasionally view your most played tables then you'd have to create some kind of parser for the PinballX statistics.ini file to dump out that data into a text file (and then run it on PinballX exit to update the file), the plugin could do this but not much time at the moment for me to look at that - but maybe in the future i'll add it.

Ok thanks Scutters, i will wait when you have some spare time. I have no idea how to extract info and sort em out automatically.

Just a late thought on this, but you can probably get what you want using the gameex online API - GameEx Online, and then view your most played tables from there.

(note - you will need to have Gameex online details set up with your details in PinballX settings as well)

Probably a Feature Request but would a user-enabled feature via Setup Wizard to add a menu item linked to dynamically created XML file of the 10 Most Played tables. Or is this something that could be done via plugin?

The gameex api can i think already spit your most played tables out as text (json or xml) as well as being able to view them on a webpage, so it probably has that covered as well.
