Yeah, but as WMP is still included with Win11 there's less dependencies required in the plugin just to use that (for now)

Understood and I figured as much. It is the (for now) that concerns me with features they seem to like to axe for no good reason as of late. I use VLC for some online playlists when my Winamp is not capable (yes, still kicking the llama's ass).

I know what you mean.. MS!!!

Most of the 'play' functions are self contained, just telling WMP what to play and when, so hopefully it should be fairly simple to change to another library if/when it's needed.

Note - I am aware of an issue that this plugin can cause PinballX v6.59 to hang.

I suspect it's somehow linked to the change to .net 8 and am investigating.

*** For now please disable this plugin in plugin manager if you're updating to the latest version of PinballX ***

Edit - now fixed in V2.2.0 attached to first post.

Plugin compatibility did not occur to me but running under .net 8 is just a small configuration file change. If you setup under compatibility settings for win 8 or 7 it will have the previous result of running under .net 6.

its just the runtime json file. The binaries are still compiled for .net 6.

Hope that helps with troubleshooting.

I did a test with the old speech plugin and it is working. So in general plugins are working. I have s feeling I may have updated bass, dll. Could that be it?

The plugin uses WMP Legacy so i don't think it's that. It's the plugin .net FW code somewhere that doesn't like the .net 8 owner or something, probably just one obscure .net function call.

Just got to refresh my memory on how the code works for it again now, it's been a while..

No worries. I would suggest trying the current build under .net 6 just to check its not something else.

i did update bass.dll but dont know how recently. I attach the previous one. It did not require code changes. I don't need to use the latest. It could be related. I think the old one had its own MP3 decoder rather than using Windows.

Thanks Tom, appreciated. No luck changing bass.dll, but installed with win 8 compatibility and the plugin works.

Pretty sure i need a code update at my end, leave it with me.

Thanks for the help Tom. In the end i found a code fix, issue was with showing the player window. Did update to FW 4.8 as well though.
