I just saw that option to remove games from the list does not work (at least in the latest version of GameEx)

When you try to delete a game from the list of an emulator, the message appears to confirm the deletion, you press accept but the game continues on the list.

Can someone else please confirm this or is it a problem with my installation?

Thanks in advance.

Is this happening for all or just some emulators? Are you using map files? Are you removing deleted games from the map files?

Hi Draco!!

I've tried several emulators and they all have the same problem.

I do not use MAP files (at least as far as I know) I think I've never used MAP files in my emulators.

No, because i'm not using MAP files on my emulators.

Thanks in advance.

I tested this as well with one emulator and while the game did stay off the list after delete, I am unable to add it back even after clearing the emulator cache. My setup is different than Evilforces in that I am on Win10 and using my own mapfiles (but still on 15.04). I will wait to see what happens with Evilforces issue before I continue on with mine (in case a different thread is needed).

@Tom Speirs His install path is C:\Juegos\GameEx. The gamex.ini and log.txt are in the third post.

Hi Tom, the folder where GameEx is installed is the same as the first time I installed it, and always works the remove feature for me since now.

What can I do to solve the problem? What you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not really sure why its not working for you right now sorry. I did notice an exception in your log though while emulators where loading.

Yes, I see this exception too, but don't know what are causing it.... I'll try to remove cache files and try again, but I'm not sure this will work to solve it.

Thanks.

Hi!!

Doing some test to my config I discovered this:

- When I enter GameEx and try to delete a game the game is not deleted from list, but in log file I see this message:

23:54:20.13  02/12/2017:  Cache Diff: ;3dobios.zip|-|3dobios;;3dobios.zip|-|3dobios;;3dobios.zip|-|3dobios;;3dobios.zip|-|3dobios;;3dobios.zip|-|3dobios;    -      ;3dobios.zip|-|3dobios;;3dobios.zip|-|3dobios;;3dobios.zip|-|3dobios;;3dobios.zip|-|3dobios;;3dobios.zip|-|3dobios;;3dobios.zip|-|3dobios;;acpsx.zip|-|acpsx;
23:54:20.13  02/12/2017:  Not Restoring Emulator from Cache: 1
23:54:20.26  02/12/2017:  Not Restoring Emulator Database From Cache: 1

NOTE: 3dobios.zip is the name of the game I try to delete.

- Next time I enter GameEx the game still appearing on the list.

I think it's possible a cache problem that makes GameEx not deleting the game from the list. I try to delete all dbcache files from data folder, but not working to resolve the problem.

Can I remove other files or do something to clear totally the cache of GameEx??

I suspect the problem becomes after I added another emulator to GameEx and used setup wizard to move this new emulator to first position on my emulators list. I think this could be the cause of the problem that makes I can't remove games from list.

It's possible a cache problem?

How can I clear totally the cache and be sure GameEx is recogniting all my emulators ok?

Thanks in advance.

I see if I exclude a game from a emulator list, this game appears on the GameEx.ini file as excluded:

emu_18_excludedfileswithnames=;Hello, World! Demo V1.0 by Amos Bieler (PD).vb|-|Hello, World! Demo V1.0 by Amos Bieler;

but continues appearing on the list.

Disabled GameEx Online feature from Setup Wizard and still having problem removing games.

I continue thinking could be a cache problem, because the results on the log file. For some emulators have a cache diff that is not normal.

Hi tthurman!!

If I toggle this setting how can I remove games from the list?

Another doubt is why is GameEx not recognizing the excluded games on my gameex.ini file for some systems.... I don't understand why when I remove a game, this game is included on the excluded games list on gameex.ini but still appearing on the emulator list inside GameEx....

As you are the only one reporting this issue It's just an idea akin to that of reinstalling GameEx over the top of itself.

Toggle it off, exit GameEx

Launch GameEx

Toggle it on, exit GameEx

Launch GameEx and see if it helps.

I've followed the instructions and have the same results.

I think the only thing left is to pray for someone else to have the same problem and then try to find a solution by the team.

At the moment I think I can't do anything else, I have tried everything that was in my hands and with my few knowledge.

Thanks to all those who have tried to provide a solution.

Greetings.

Ok, finally found a GameEx executable doing a search on the forum

- Downloaded and installed

- Now My GameEx detects all my emulators excluded files and I can remove games from the list as always.

- I can confirm this is a bug on latest GameEx version, but unfortunatly because I'm the only wretch that has it I guess my only solution is to stay in this old version.

Probably this version has other problems/bugs, but for now I needed to confirm that it was not a problem with my computer.

Hi @RedDog!!

When return to latest version executable I can't delete games, and the games in excluded list return to my games list.

I know you think it's only a problem on my system, but I'm sure this is a bug... probably due a configuration with my GameEx installation, but a bug that only happen with latest version.
