Hi Tom, sorry for this but GameEx continues crashing ramdonly.

As you can see in the background log, there is an error that continues appearing on it. I don't know if this is related to the crashes, but here it is...

Only can say to help that GameEx only crashes when I'm seeing the list of games, never crash when an emulator launch. This make me think it's something related to video or something that makes it crash.

As you can see on the normal log, I was playing and listing games until it crash. The crashes are random. It can crash in a minute or in an hour, but always when you are on GameEx menu.

When GameEx crash, I see the tipycal Windows message saying the program crash, but if i see the process list, GameEx and Hideos are running, and need to close the process manually.

Desktop screen is black, and icons are hidden because Hideos is running. Only when I close the process manually can re-launch GameEx normaly. All this is very strange, because Windows says the program crashes, but program still running (I can't access it, but the process is open)

I don't know what to do to solve this.....

Sorry for this, but for me is a big problem.

Do you happen to have the Gaming Evolved by Rptor portion of the AMD drivers installed?

I thought I'd ask because it can cause crashes with GameEx, and it's easy to overlook it during driver updates since it defaults to install it.  If you have it installed, I'd recommend seeing what happens after you uninstall it.

HI Tthurman,

I think haven't installed the AMD Gaming Evolved.

This program is not in my programs list.

If I see the add or remove programs, only see the AMD install manager, and this is the list of programs installed with this application:

Hard crashes in GameEx where it does not show the log (unless I left debugging on which I had done previously) are usually down to drivers or more often than not videos/video codecs. If not things like Todd mentions. Its likely not much I can do here.

Hi Tom,

I don't know if I understand your answer, but if you mean reinstalling the operating system, I must say that this pc is clean. I installed the operating system from scratch and the only program that is installed on it is GameEx in conjunction with emulators, nothing more.

Windows is fully updated and drivers too.

I am convinced that will not be a problem of GameEx, but I don't see the solution in reinstalling everything again, sincerely.

Thank you very much for your answer.

Some thoughts:

Run sfc

If you recently updated your Crimson drivers, try rolling back to the previous release.

New Windows updates recently?  It goes without saying that these sometimes create as many issues as they resolve.  If it appeared right after an update, that's another option to try rolling back from.

Are you running Sharks codecs, or LAV's?  You may want to consider switching to the LAV filters linked on the PBX site (they are the recommended release) if you are still running sharks

- Ok, SFC runned without errors.

- The crashes happened with latest and previous drivers. I think this is not the problem

- No windows updates recently

- I tried both. Same result. Uninstalled now all codecs, pass ccleaner and installed that you linked. Cross my fingers.

Does not tell me much unfortunately. Try getting GameEx to crash when it is running windowed (not full screen). See if it sheds any light.

Will try it and comment. Crashes are very random.

Ok, mem test passed with no errors.

All my pc components are brand new, but could be defective, of course.

Id install LAV codecs too if you are using default windows codecs. They tend to be much more stable.

I don't understand this well Tom. I thougth the LAV codecs are included on the installer posted by tthurman in a post before....

Need I to install other codecs than   PBX site ????

As the crash seems related to the file "mscorwks.dll ", wich is a part of .NET Framework 2.0, i suggest you reinstall/repair the .Net frameworks wich are available on Microsoft Website or google it.

I don't think the sfc command scan .Net Framework Integrity so it could be worth a try

Hi Tom,

Only want to know if you need I do something after replace original exe with debug version exe.

Do you need I attach the log or something?

I was trying 2 days with the debug version, but I can't make GameEx crash now.... Is this good?

The only thing I see is with debug version GameEx is not auto-updating to latest version. I suppose this is normal.

Waiting your instructions to do what you want now.

Thanks in advance.
