Hello! Please excuse my ignorance, but I have tried for the past couple of weeks to figure this out by reading the forums and I cannot figure this out. I have installed gameex, and several emulators, and I have roms for most of them (not all yet), but the only emulator I can get to work is N64. The roms are in compressed rar format, which shouldn't be a problem for the emulator to play, right? I can't get MAME or Mess to even open, it says it has to be configured or something. And yes, I have already checked all of the basic things, like making sure the paths are correct. I can open the roms with most of the emulators outside of gameex, but not by using it. Also, the snes emulator I downloaded through the emulator downloader doesn't work even outside of gameex...

One other question. I have downloaded emumovies download service utility, but everytime I try to log in, it says, "login failed", even though I can log into the website without any problems!! I am about to go crazy. Thanks for your help.

I have attached my log verify file here.

Welcome! You may want to start with one emulator and open a separate thread for each after getting one resolved. Trying to help diagnose them all in one thread will only confuse you and us.

Before we begin, you will need to provide us with a copy of your gameex.ini and log.txt files. The GameEx How to ask for help link in my signature will instruct you on where to find these files and how to submit them for review.

When you reply with the requested files, pick an emulator for this thread and that is where the help will begin. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! So let's start with Sega Genesis emulation using Fusion. I can play the games outside of gameex, but it just goes to a black screen with a changing number at the bottom of the screen (60 or 59.9 or something).

Here's the file for my fusion:

Woah :wacko:

Glad to have you on the forums MegaChundler, but I must say that last post gave me a bit of a headache :lol:

You'll find this info in the how to ask for help thread, but I'll post it here for you.  If you use this feature of the board, it will make for much easier reading for everyone.

BTW:  MESS isn't officially supported by GameEx yet, but it will be added at some point in the future.

Please put the contents of your config file in Spoiler tags. It is difficult for mobile users to read the forums with out them, especially on mobile devices.

- Click on the spoiler button, which is the "Eye" in the toolbar.

- Paste the contents of your support files in the window and click OK to save.

We're going to need to see your log file too, however there are some things jumping out at me.

This is default, which leads me to believe you are not running integrated MAME, which removes all the great features GameEx offers.

mamepath=C:\GameEx

Also, are you really running AdvanceMame?

USeAdvanceMame=True
AdvanceMAMEEXE=advmame.exe
AdvanceMAMEPATH=C:\Emulators\AdvanceMAME
ADVANCEMAMEOptions=-device_video_output fullscreen -quiet -dir_rom "C:\Emulators\Mame32\roms"

Other than seeing references to MESS in some of your emulator setup, this is what I'm taking away with a quick look, but the log file will be very revealing as to other issues.  Take a good look at the supported emulators at the bottom of this page, and make sure you're using something that's supported.

The follow the Setup Wizard Configuration guide, carefully ensuring your paths are correct.

Get a solid version of MAME, I prefer vanilla MAME compiled with headkaze's most excellent compiler.

A good chance you'll hits some bumps along the way, just let us know, and we will do everything we can to help.

I'm sorry for the headache! Thank you for taking the time to offer help! I will look into what you have suggested.

To relieve some of your migraine, I have resolved some of my issues (I can now successfully work several emulators, but I'm still working on MAME). Thanks! I will get back with some more problems I'm sure.
