[RESOLVED] You have exceeded the maximum amount of bandwidth - How?

Hello, I am having issues downloading PinballX 2.12. Every time I get the "You have exceeded the maximum amount of bandwidth" for the day error [#10857]. The thing is I haven't downloaded anything since version 2.02.and want to update. Have tried deleting cookies and using another browser besides Firefox with the same result.

Do you have to purchase FTP access now to download the basic program or a possible server problem?

Thanks

This changed some time ago now, but to answer your question, yes, you have to have at least a one year pass to access the downloads section.

See this post for more information.

Thanks for the answer, looks like a lot has changed since PinballX version 2.02!

Another question then, 2.02 ran smoothly on my system, should the latest version run as well? The basic setup that is, has anything changed since that would cause it not to work? BTW PinballX is a great program. I've tried many other frontends and it seems to be the easiest to configure and actually runs VP, VPM, FP as well as MAME as advertised.

I recommend keeping up to date with the latest version. Not much has changed with regards to CPU usage, etc. Download and install over the top of your current install and you should be good to go.

As a "best practice" recommendation, make a backup of your PinballX install folder and contents, especially since you are making a 10 version jump. Thanks!

Good to hear it should run fine, thanks for the reply!

Just to say, your prompt replies plus my past experience with both GameEx and PinballX, have prompted me to purchase the Lifetime Membership.

Now the only thing holding me back is my crappy IP bandwidth limit! :(

Thanks again guys :D
