Videos not showing boxart or descriptions

Recently updated my gameex for the first time in awhile. My old version showed the description for my videos but not the box. The new version doesn't show the box or the description. I tried several different themes and none showed the above Anyone else having this problem or have a fix.

I'm not sure how many releases back you're talking, but the most recent releases have moved to lav filters vs. the previous recommended sharks codecs. The sharks should still work fine, but depending on your needs, perhaps you didn't have those either.

Tom has linked the preferred set of the LAV's over on the PBX site.

If that isn't the problem, please post your log immediately after experiencing the issue so we can check for some clues.

<edit> I see your rez is at 1680 x 1050, but I haven't tried that particular megamame theme.

I've ran Talos 101, Ambient Occlusion, and my current selection is Draco's Smoked Glass theme, all without issue. I have to admit that I'm particularly fond of these three themes, and don't venture away from them much with the exception of perhaps some testing or previewing. I realize these aren't the same rez, but I can verify I'm not experiencing what you are with these, so you might want to give them a test drive.

Only has been about 4 or 5 months. I have shark on here now and it plays everything fine. I downloaded the new LAV files and installed them. I used the Ambient Occlusion theme and still no box art or descriptions. Log file attached.

Can you please rename your gameex.ini to gameex.ini-old and then rename GameEx.UpgradeBackup.ini to gameex.ini and report back if this resolves the issue?

Based on Dal1980's thread, an over the top install of the same version shouldn't be ruled out as a possible solution as well.

It doesn't get any easier than giving that a go.

The log I posted above is from a new install. I tried to upgrade and thats when I noticed the problem. So I removed the folder and did a new install. So my Gameex backup is the same as my gameex.ini. I now have tried a number of themes, including the one I made and the boxart and description doesn't show. Going to play around with some things today at work and see if I can come up with a solution. Am not running any emulatlors in the new install only movies. Changed my resolution to several different ones and still have the problem.

No thats what's crazy. My artwork, movies , descriptions etc show up for my game systems just fine. In my multimedia section the preview movies show up fine, and the movies play fine when clicked. While browing I get no boxart or a description for the movies.

Anything happen when you click on Get Metadata in the menu bar?

When I click the Get Metadata it acts like it does something but still nothing shows. Did a new install on my laptop at work and I get the same results as above. Can someone do a screen grap showing a movie with boxart and description.
