designone
HiI had a large Mam set-up in the past while I was trying out Gameex after I purchased it I un-installed it and re-installed it.As soon as I open it and set up Mame it wants to update and goes to over 4000 games even though there are only 3 games in the directory. I would like this to be a small setup with a few emulators and 150 or so Mame games Is there a file somewhere that is giving me the over 4000 game count or is that the way it sets up from the start.Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.Thank-you
Draco1962
Welcome. Just an FYI, be aware of where you are posting as I had to move your thread from the PinballX subforums to GameEx General. Also, please click on the GameEx How to ask for help link in my signature for instructions on how to provide us with your gameex.ini and log.txt files so we can take a look and properly guide you. Thanks!

Draco1962
In Setup Wizard, under Advance MAME Settings, change Only Existing ROMS from No to Yes, save your changes and exit Setup Wizard. Start GameEx, go to MAME, then select Update. It should reset your list.

designone
I looked in the setup wizard and found a page that you set the rom directory and things like that but I couldn't find an advanced mame settings page. I did go to the gameex ini file and changed the romsonly= false to true and it seems to have worked. Thank-you both very much. It is just showing roms I have now. What does advanced mame settings look like and why is it not showing on my setup wizard. I am running 14.4 so its current, I could have missed it but I looked closely at every thing after the set up mame now page.
Draco1962
We have a wiki entry for that. You can find it here.
tthurman
Additionally, if it helps here's a link to the config wizard of that section.Just to ensure you're not accidentally looking at the AdvanceMame area, which you aren't utilizing.
