Has anyone got the command line for the Sony PSP (PCSP) version? when I boot it up everything, the roms, the vids, the artwork is all there but all I am getting is a black screen! Checked the list of them that was uploaded but PSP isn't there,Thanks

Is there a specific reason you are running pcsp? I was under the impression that ppsspp was the emulator of choice for PSP (with the added benefit that it's frontend friendly). PSP is not a system that I emulate since I still have a trusty ol' PSP around, but from what I've seen ppsspp seems to be the concensus for a lot of GameEx users. If you go that route, the command line is pretty simple:

PPSSPPWindows64.exe "[RomPath]/[RomFile]"

Yeah PPSSPP is pretty much untouchable. I haven't tried the RetroArch core yet but the standalone emu runs just about everything I've thrown at it.

The PPSSPP emulator isn't in the GameEx emulator list !! the only one is Sony PSP (PCSP) ! How do you select PPSSPP? Plus Chrome keeps stopping the download says its dangerous! even though AVAST doesnt say a word!

You can either select an existing config and change the settings you need (which is probably the easiest if you've not done this before), or you can simply select an empty emulator slot, click next, and enter the necessary information on the emulator settings screen. GameEx is capable of running any command line compatible emulator, which extends well beyond the list of pre-made configs available in the Setup Wizard. In the post I linked earlier, Krak posted a working ppsspp config (you can open it with notepad), so if you duplicate his settings that should be a good starting place. Welcome to the world of roll your own! ;)

simply select an empty emulator slot, click next !? selected an empty slot in Setup Wizard and pressed return(next)? and nothing! wouldnt it be a lot simpler just to add this emulator to the outdated emulator list? (Atari 8 Bit) springs to mind here, seems to be loads of people with problems with getting this emulator into GameEx !, not just me! Regards

PS. isn't it possible to add an emulator to the setup wizards list?,Got PPSSPP up and running in windows 64 now just to get it into GameEx!

Your response is showing me a bit of frustration (somewhat understandable) and wishfulness (also somewhat understandable). Let's address wishfulness first. The fact that the emulators you wish to use are not in the Emulator Selections is not going to change at this moment to remedy your immediate issue. To get that out of your system so you can focus on the issues that are causing frustration, you may make a Feature/Enhancements request.

Now to address the frustration. SInce the wish is not going to come true to get you past this, that leaves you with a little hard work and becoming familiar with the Setup Wizard:

- Open the Setup Wizard, select Custom, click next arrow, then select Emulator Setup, click next arrow again.

- Click the Select Emulator dropdown and select the next unused emulator slot.

- Click Enabled ans select Yes.

- All the rest are pretty self-explanatory. You will need to provide paths to the emulator's .exe file, ROMS, filters, command lines, etc. Some have been provided to you by nullPointer or referenced in a linked post by him. Some, such as the ROM, artwork paths you will need to input the info that matches your install.

If you get stuck, we will be glad to lend a hand. Be prepared to provide the usual support files as well as your emulator config (instructions for that are also in the How to Ask For Help links in our SIgnatures).

I can't really put it any better or more succinctly than Draco just did, but I echo his sentiments, and please do know that I wasn't trying to cause you undo frustration. I tend to take it as a given that at some point pretty much every GameEx user sets up an emulator from scratch. Generally speaking the only two potentially tricky parts are figuring out the command line (above) and figuring out how best to exit a given emulator (there is also the rare occurrence in which an advanced emulator config becomes necessary, but that is such an outlier that it's almost not worth mentioning). I guess for the most part I consider emulation to be a DIY hobby save for island oases of help and assistance like this one. That's actually one of the things I like about the hobby. It can be frustrating occasionally, but it's fun and rewarding to solve issues that have been plaguing you.

In situations like this, knowing some tricks for searching the forums become invaluable. My favorite one is adding site:gameex.info to a Google search (so like site:gameex.info ppsspp). Doing a search like this I was literally able to find a full ppsspp config in under two minutes. (Thanks stigzler!) I don't want to be the "Google is your friend" guy, but do realize that the information available to you on these forums is a very valuable resource when you encounter these sorts of issues. It's like an GameEx emulation reference library at your finger tips! Chances are if you're having an issue, someone else may have experienced that exact same issue.

So long story short, see how far you can get in setting up ppsspp, use the forums to your advantage, and if you hit issues we're right here to help you out. Good luck duders!

Hey that's great to hear!

Would you mind posting your config so the next fellow that runs into this can find the solution to their problem here in your thread?

Congrats on getting it running!

It's one of my faves too! Was blown away when played Litlle Big Planet - it was like playing on PS3 or something - dunno if that was down to the upscaling.

(Oh, and then there's Wipeout, of course..... :P)
