Tom, not sure what the 'Fixes black screen on exit' issue was, but I'm still getting an issue whereby when I exit GameEx my desktop background and theme have been set to a plain black background. I've reinstalled a fresh version of GameEx over the top of my current install but it's still happening. Any idea, or should I create a new thread and post my log and ini?

I split this from the [NEWS] topic. Always open a separate thread for any issues you encounter and provide copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files. The team will be glad to take a look at it.

Try launching GameEx, browse around etc., anything but launching a game, and then exit GameEx.

Is your desktop wallpaper still there?

This is a strange one, after debugging this a little further I've noticed that when using the 'Windows 10' theme in Windows you get a black desktop background on exit, whereas using the 'Windows' theme or setting a static wallpaper directly it restores it.

Hi, this was fixed yesterday but it was a silent update. So please download and install GameEx from the site (It will be the same as an update).

Thanks Tom. However I downloaded the latest version (.34) and installed it over my current install and still no change...

Do I need to uninstall first?

You do not need to uninstall, however, please provide a fresh copy of your log.txt file. Thanks!

Well FWIW, I downloaded 14.34 yesterday, and it fixed issues on my test setup, and my main rig.

Have you tried toggling GameEx running in background to no, to see if that has any effect. Not saying that's a permanent solution, but mine is set to no currently, so it would create a similar environment.

Just switched it off but no luck either again :-(

Attaching the latest log file (same ini as above - aside from turning GameEx Online in background to off). All I need to do to recreate is open GameEx and close it again and it wipes my wallpaper....

Actually, this is expected behaviour. It is a known issue. If you are not using a static image or colour you will lose the desktop UNLESS you disable "Hide Desktop" under Display Settings in the setup wizard.
