RedDog
Today while working on GameEx, I noticed that when I exit, GameEx crashes.I upgraded from 14.30 to 14.31 today. The issue was not occurring with 14.30. Since no one else has reported a similar issue, I assume it is just my install. Before I reinstall, I wanted to see if anyone else has an insight on a fix.I tested with my current GameEx config as well as a new config. It crashes on both. The log file does not appear to show any errors, but I've included it below anyway. The crash occurs regardless of how the exit is done (via ESC, the EXIT menu option, or the CLOSE button in the top right). When the crash occurs, Windows7 states "GameEx has stopped working" with the following details:Description: Stopped workingProblem signature: Problem Event Name: CLR20r3 Problem Signature 01: gameex.exe Problem Signature 02: 1.0.0.0 Problem Signature 03: 55a8466a Problem Signature 04: System Problem Signature 05: 2.0.0.0 Problem Signature 06: 53a12529 Problem Signature 07: 3adf Problem Signature 08: 288 Problem Signature 09: System.ComponentModel.Win32 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033Attached are my GameEx.ini and log.txt.Thanks!GameEx.inilog.txt
Draco1962
Just checking to make sure you are not running the Raptr enhancements as part of your Radeon Catalyst software. As you are probably aware there is an an issue with that and GameEx.
RedDog
I was not aware of that. And it appears that my Catalyst Control Center is not working. I will resolve that and then see where things are at.However, I do not recall installing the Gaming Evolved Client by Raptr.
RedDog
OK, I got my Catalyst squared away...including doing the install without the Gaming Evolved option.Sadly, the crash is still occurring.
tthurman
A long shot for sure considering your troubleshooting ability, but ya never know!
RedDog
A long shot for sure considering your troubleshooting ability, but ya never know! The fix for the long shot was kind of odd, but computers will be computers some times don't ya know. Originally, I had only had "run as administrator" checked. I made several adjustments to the compatibility parameters of the GameEx shortcut and the GameEx executable, but there was no change on the crashing. I also tested GameEx_lite and it is crashing as well. Thanks for the suggestion though. If there are any others, please toss them my way. If all else fails, I will reinstall. Draco1962
Have you downloaded the installer and run it from the PC?
alondero
I'm also seeing this issue, only since upgrading to 14.31 too. As a result HideOS isn't getting around to restoring my Desktop background either which is a minor inconvenience.I've also not got Raptr installed. Happy to attach my ini and log too if it would help.
Tom Speirs
Can you please try disabling the new new GameEx Online background option.
alondero
Can you please try disabling the new new GameEx Online background option. That fixed the crash but still leaves me with a black Desktop background on exit... strange
Tom Speirs
The black desktop is probably left over from when it crashed. That can happen. If you want to reenable the feature, a manual install may also fix the issue. I suspect auto update did not run correctly.
RedDog
Can you please try disabling the new new GameEx Online background option. My config did not have the GameEx Online option enabled. I did try enabling and disabling, but the crash on exit continues.I guess I will reinstall 14.32 fresh to see if that takes care of it.UPDATE: A fresh install fixed the crashing issue. THANKS ALL!!!
