Draco1962
Thanks! I have been in contact with one of the operators at Video Game Rescue who took the video I posted earlier and will probably meet there in a few hours. I have told him about our sites for GameEx and PinballX so he may show up here at some point. Hoping to make some decent contacts and steering some local business Tom's way whenever I can. tthurman
Man, I bet that is going to be a fun day!<edit> just had time to watch the video, love the row of nintendo cabs, looks so nice and neat!A great collection no doubt, complete with upright Star Wars and Sinistar. Qbert, Joust......wow Wonder if any of pincabs are virtual?Super sweet for sure, and reinforces my belief that arcades could make a solid return in the right markets. Just look at how many people are there!
Draco1962
Here is a video from one of the local supporters of the Arcade Expo from last night. My wife and I went during the day, so missed the great arcade style lighting effects showing in the video (due to sun coming in through the windows, etc.). We had a great time. It was hard to pick a game to play so I made sure the first game I played was Space Invaders which is the first arcade game I ever played. There were no multi-game emulated arcade or pinball setups there - all pure originals.
tthurman
Wonder what was up with that TRON unit, it's around 2:10. They were always the best looking game in a dark arcade (IMO), so something seems off with that particular unit. Regardless, everything looks amazing!Did your wife get into it as well? Vic's like me, she would have been sitting at that Star Wars cab until someone pried her off of it
Draco1962
She likes the games but is not too much into the crowds and people standing around while she plays. She had a great time regardless. They had 2 Tron cabs there. I noticed that the one you saw was a little on the dim side and the marquee not well lit. nullPointer
I'm going to show my naivety here, but I had no idea those candy cabs were so diminutive! Are they all that short or are the ones in the video (~0:48) small scale versions?Looks like a blast Draco, I'm glad you had the opportunity to go!
