FTP - where are the desktop videos and art?

Just signed up, donated and went on the FTP. Has a ton of good items but I can't find the folders for desktop mode (pinball x). It should be videos desktop and art desktop. Hopefully they are on there. Please advise.

Much depends upon what you are looking for. Can you be more specific as to the type of media you are searching? You may also want to look into the Downloads section at the top of the forums as some members have placed various collections there or links to media within the PinballX Media Projects forum.

I'm looking for table videos and images but for the desktop version, not full cabinet. I only see full cabinet (horizontal) media on the ftp, not vertical (desktop).

I'm in the same situation. I wanted to get some tables videos for a desktop setup, for both Future Pinball and Visual PInball systems, but I didn't see some of these on the FTP. I'm pretty sure that's what BobbyDigital793 was referring to in is initial post. The only "desktop" table videos I could grab where a couple I was able to save from Youtube.

I've installed PinballX in my bartop arcade cabinet, which is lauched from Hyperspin. PinballX is more user friendly and easier to setup than trying to get everything going directly from Hyperspin, for both FP and VP.

Besides the FTP here, are there any other sources for desktop tables videos, either for Future / VIsual Pinball ?

Again, look in the referenced Downloads section for PinballX in the bar at the top of this page and the PinballX Media Projects forum. FTP is a little disorganized so you may have to dig through some of the folders to find the content for which you are looking.

Another place to look is at emumovies.com as they have a growing section of snaps and videos. Well worth the membership IMO.

If you find something from elsewhere and have the author's permission to share, please do so in the Downloads section and/or FTP and leave a post within the PinballX Media Projects forum alerting others to the share. The media offerings here will only grow if the members contribure.

Thanks for the reply Draco. I've checked in both the download section and the PinballX Media projects forum but I didn't find any pinball tables videos in desktop mode. I'll check Emumovies; however I'm afraid that the videos I'll find there will be all for a cabinet setup, not for desktop.

Unfortunately, the majority of what you will find is optimized for Portrait orientation (vertical) only as opposed to Landscape (horizontal or "desktop").

There are utilities available that will allow you to change the orientation and/or crop the display to fit a desktop display. Your mileage may vary as to the quality of the results.

Hopefully, given time, some of our desktop members will share their videos with the community so that there are more options available.

I've been reluctant to chime in here, but I can't recall seeing a great deal of desktop oriented topics as a whole.

Finally took the plunge and subscribed to Emumovies. Found there a bunch of 720p Future Pinball recreationals and originals videos, as well as 600p VIsual Pinball videos in 4:3 format (which should be in desktop mode). I'll have a look in these and report back.
