[RESOLVED] Lost MAME Configuration with GAMEEX Update/Lightgun installation

Ok, so I have a few problems going on so I'll try to keep them clear and straight. First, I just installed lightguns to my cabinet (AimTrak). It took awhile to get it setup but I was able to get it working in MAME as well as Gameex. At the same time I was setting up the lightgun, my Gameex wanted to update to the new version (2.2). It updated fine and all my MAME games showed up with artwork and all. However, all my button configurations for my xarcade tankstick reset. I have to manual configure all my buttons for each and every game! Too much work. When I set it up before, all I had to do was go into the menu tab in one of my games and configure the "General Input" and it configured all games including any new games downloaded. Also, I'm using a laptop to run my cabinet and therefore have an external keyboard (via USB) that I use in lieu of the laptop keyboard. Now MAME won't recoginize it when I try to configure the games. I have to revert to the laptop keyboard. Not sure why this is happening but I have a hunch that something got jacked up when I was installing the light guns and/or when Gameex updated, Oh, by the way, I got a few error messages from Gameex as well and it shut down on me. I attached all the files I think you would need to get started. Thanks in advance for the help!

Sorry there has been no response to this as of yet. It sounds like you have a few issues all happening at once. My recommendation is to pick an issue and let's see if the team can help you to resolve it. Once resolved (unless, of course, another issue is directly related to the one being worked), open a new thread for the next issue. Trying to resolve multiple issues within a thread with mutliple responses to each will only lead to further frustration for you as well as those trying to assist. So, your first issue to troubleshoot?

The computer that i was using when i had this issue crapped out on me! so i got a new computer and did a fresh load of gameex as well as mame

i copied my roms from my old computer to the new one and they all work fine in mame

i"m trying to update game list in gameex and it is stuck at "reading listinfo dat"

can"t get it to budge

can i get some help with this

Hi Nippon,

This is standing out to me:

15:35:58.8  12/31/2014:  Running: C: C:\GameEx\Mame Mapping Magician.exe -listxml > C:\GameEx\listinfo.dat

Never used it but it could be the culprit. Can you disable Mame Mapping Magician and try Update List again.

That is what your MAME exe is set to in the setup wizard. It should be more like MAME.exe

The path to mame.exe is also pointing to your gameex folder.
