Ralph H. Baer, creator of the first gaming console the Magnavox Odyssey, passed away at the age of 92 Saturday, 6 December. Read more about this remarkable "Father of the Gaming Console" here.

RIP and thanks for launching the gaming revolution that started many fond memories!

I saw this as well, and was saddened by the news. He was truly a remarkable man, and our gaming hobby would be incredibly different today (if it existed at all) if not for his brilliant mind and his childlike sense of wonderment with the world (which I mean as a compliment in the utmost).

I spent countless hours on the Odyssey 2.

Have to appreciate a man that realized his own impact on the gaming world, and wasn't afraid to admit it!
