Thread bumping and general expressions of impatience/lack of respect

I personally have never experienced any trolling here or downright disrespect toward another member, but I guess that makes me lucky lol.

While I've been here, the vast majority of exchange here has been healthy, with only a small a handful of threads going south.

If there's one thing I have noticed, and especially more so after the summer sale, is that the influx of new members has brought with it new users who are unfamiliar with what we all have come to accept as the norm here. You have a problem, post it, and members here typically go out of their way to help you out, but inevitably there will always be someone who needs help, posts as such, and just happens to hit a time where everybody is tied down with other issues outside these forums, that take priority in their life.

As this scenario plays out some feel neglected, become upset, and sometimes frankly react in a bit of an irrational manner. Unfortunately there is no way to make everyone happy, just like there is no way to get people to read the "How to ask for help" thread. How many times do you see Draco asking for ini and logs?

As it is, everyone does the best they can to be of assistance when they can, and I think Draco's overall point of this thread was to let that be known.

I mean, there's a macro in place to prompt for additional info (log, ini) every time you post. I'm not sure what else can be done really. ;)

Yeah... I remember some mad fella ranting on one night after he'd had a few beers about his disappointment that the retro-gaming community wasn't contributing enough to the scene. Thank god we saw the back of him....
