Hide wheel in pinballx?

Hi there, I'm using pinballx in desktop mode, but I can't find a way to hide the wheel (with its huge icons)

Is there a way to hide it?

You need the wheel to pick the table. You could delete the icons from the wheel image folder then you will just see the table name (description)

So you say that is infact impossible to not show the wheel/description and just navigate through the playfield images?

I tried to delete the wheel's icons, but once I set them, I can't find a way to delete them.. I have to delete the entire game and start over. Is that the only way?

At least is there a way to change the wheel? Height of the icons, dimension, position etc?

With a desktop installation and not a cabinet one it is too big, imho

I am sure someone will answer, however, be aware that the main focus for PinballX is for pincabs. If there is no way to make the changes you are are requesting, you may need to submit a request in the PinballX Enhancements/Feature Requests thread.

You can get rid of the wheels background quite easy (its only a image file in PinballX folder (PinballX\media\images\underlay.png)

Dont know if it works (and I know it is a lot of work), but have you tried to resize the icons manually and import them in game manager again?

In theory you could create a 1 pixel transparent .png image and name it underlay.png to get rid of the wheel. As for all the icons, you could copy and name the very same transparent .png to match all the tables names as well.

Do it for only a few and let me know if it works

Just tried: if you use a transparent png you solve the problem (1x1 is not necessary)

I was to busy on hiding the wheel that I actually didn't think to the most obviuos solution.

Anyways, the ability to modifiy dimensions and position of the wheel would be fantastic

yes i think this would be a great option for pinx. The Wheel images just block the view of the table anyway and i use BG images for the wheels img i don't have and they block the whole table view. With the great screen grab option i could do away with media packs all together

Reading this I was going to say the same thing. Use a transparent image. Maybe something could be done as an option to change the direction/upslope/downslope pattern of the wheel. Doesn't matter to me, just an idea.
