Hi

I'm new here and I've just set up PinballX on my miny cab that I've been building for the last couple of weeks. My problem is that when I hit E (my exit emulator key) Visual PInball closes but I just get returned to the desktop. There is no sign of PInballX running. Is there anything special I should have set up or is the default behaviour for PinballX to continue running and to pop back up when I exit the emulator?

Also, please try the attached. Basically the issue Is the display won't reinitialize. It think its because of the improvements in game exit speed. If it works with a dummy game that will be the issue and it probably just needs more of a delay.

Can you try setting up a dummy game that won't launch and see if PinballX resumes.

Tom, if you mean put in a game that doesn't load I did try that yesterday. it just flips back to the game listing. I haven't tried it with the latest version because I am not at home.

I'll try the new version when I get home tonight. Assuming someone else doesn't beat me to the testing. Thanks for putting in the effort to get this worked out.

I added a game called 'dummy game' that doesn't exist and PinballX came back when it failed to load the dummy game. I tried the new exe and it also bombed out to Windows. Thanks for your efforts.

Hello Tom,

I have the same problem. I started with PinballX V1.65. I tried to downgrade to V 1.56 but the error was the same. I tried your V1.67 and the version you provided above as 7z-file. It's always the same. I have a second problem. When I try to press the Ingame/Pause-button, then disappears the playfield and the backglass for about 0.5 seconds, and then they appear again, and I can continue playing the game. Everytime when I press the Ingame/Pause-button, an entry in the log is created 'In Game: Error Initializing Display'. I tried to update my NVIDIA-drivers, but this doesn't help. No change with the latest. By the way, if I do Escape, Quit to editor, close editor, PinballX works as it should.

Maybe we can compare setups. I have a 3 monitor setup and my tables are all using directb2s backglasses. VP915.

I think the last version that seemed to work for both Visual and Future Pinball was something like 1.58.. It's been awhile since FP worked.

Visual Pinball: 2 Monitor using dbs2, vp 9.15

Future Pinball: FP Physics 2.3 through 2.5 tested, using BAM all fail in both versions.
