stigzler
Aside from "don't play with your eyes shut" any helpful advice? - gonna start setting up pinball emus on my arcade cab...In efforts to avoid wild goose chases/blind alleys:Future or Visual Pinball (or V pin mame???)Will aim to use Pinball X as front end - any setup tips?Easy as download emu, download tables and go?Any extras needed? Thanks
Draco1962
I would recommend reviewing the PinballX forums as there is quite a bit of experience there regarding its setup, nuances, and the various emulators supported through it if that is the direction you are going. Itchigo
Personally I go with VP/VPM tables myself. I build VP tables, so that's what I know. But there are others who swear by FP too. Very time consuming to set up with all the screenshots, wheels, etc, but well worth it in the end- either way. BTW, I've heard more than a few who said they only play FP for tables they can't get in VP. If that helps....
hansolo77
I've got both. VP would be where you want to go if you want to emulate true/existing pinball tables. FP is nice if you want high quality detail in made-up tables.
stigzler
Cheers folks - I think this is gonna turn into quite a mission, so back boiler for now.
nullPointer
Cheers folks - I think this is gonna turn into quite a mission, so back boiler for now.Yeah when you first get into pinball emulation/simulation you're thinking, "OK great just another emulator - no big deal" Then you realize it's a whole separate subset of knowledge and tools within the broader realm of emulation. In the end it's definitely worth the journey, but it's not the easiest journey to take especially if you're looking to have everything "just so". stigzler
Thanks Null. Just ratified my decision. I'll never get this system in its cab if I started on Pinball by my reckoning.
stephen
Itchigo, if you have any tables published somewhere, I'd like to load them up and play them.
Stu1983
If you haven't done so already add a couple of flipper buttons to the side of the cabinet that way you can come back to it at a later date.I regretted not adding the extra buttons to my 1st control panel. I added them to my second and I only use Future Pinball now. They are all a pain to set up but for me FP seemed the easiest plus I think it looks the most impressive when other people are around playing my cab Some day I'll build a pinball cabinet with 2 lcds but I've plenty of other things on my todo list first
