  1. A happy new year from Germany to you all and your families!
  2. Yeah - I'd really like to know how George and TiF have achieved their insane scores What I am trying to do is - move strictly on a door-to-door basis. I mean I can't for the life of me handle 3 doors opening at once on the higher stages. For example I start with doors 1,2 and 3. Once I got a deposit in 1, I move on to 2, 3 and 4. Once I moved, there's a high probability of someone already waiting in 4 so I can concentrate on that door opening at once. I typically screw up when I have to move by more than one door to defuse a bomb or when time runs out. - know my foes. The dude with the white boots is the fastest one, so I try to look mainly at the boots. Also, when a deposit is robbed and you return to that window, almost always there's the robber still waiting and you can pop it without much ado. - get EXTRA lives. In the early stages with a little practice you can do "0.00" kills, earning you a letter. After very little practice you should be able to get at least one extra life per game (besides a load of extra points). So - happy scoring!
  3. Raiden update - 479,080 (have quite a bit RL stuff going on - will join the contest again next weekend) Go Team GameEX!
  4. Absolutely second to this one - that would be a massive final amongst two classic European teams! 0-0 right now - good luck to the Dutch team! Well, we'll see about that
  5. Here's two more - 15,128 for Bump 'n' Jump and 42,180 for Bubbles (strange one )
  6. I was able to improve my Bank Panic score - 573,100 One place up for Team GameEX!
  7. Great scores man - more slots filled!
  8. First Bank Panic Score submitted - 521,250 (can and will do better )
  9. Improvements for Frogger and Elevator Action and a new score for Road Fighter Frogger - 10,930 Elevator Action - 16,750 Road Fighter - 28,490
  10. OK, here's 2 rather lousy scores - but at this stage it's all about the slot filling, right? (Edit: scores have been submitted to the official scoreboard) Frogger - 7,020 points Elevator Action - 9,500 points
  11. Tried Super Spacefortress Macross as well - 1,069,700
  12. And here's my first 19xx score - another second place for GameEx score - 648,500
  13. My first Raiden hi-score submission for Team GameEx: points: 350,090 which scores Team GameEx a preliminary second place in that game (@GC: the score is in the spreadsheet but I noticed it takes a while for it to show up)
  14. Understatement of the year Absolute amazing score!
  15. Had myself some good reflexes today. Even the annoying guy in the white boots didn't kill me every time he appeared. score - 618,550 I think that after you have reached like levels 11 or 12 it cools off a little in that it doesn't get much faster anymore. Of course this observation needs to be scientifically proven - I'm on it
  16. Really like your artwork, you did a fantastic job so far. I think making a good artwork is the toughest but also most rewarding step toward finishing one's cabinet! (i know - been there ) I as well would stick with the xenomorph - but wondered if you thought about discarding the top image. I think the xenomorph is such a striking pic it doesn't need a second one. Also you wouldn't need to match colors and the like between the two pics which can get a bit hairy. You could put the Nostromo logo in the top spot, making it a bit bigger and maybe align it with the logo on the front (marquee). For the background in the upper part maybe you could use some kind of white dots to simulate a star filled universe or some planet (or part of) like in the opening scenes of the first movie. Again, great artwork already. All suggestions strictly based on personal preference.
  17. Got a new one - 431,600 Near perfect run - it won't get any better for sure, at least not for me... had 0.01 secs on average on first round which resulted in a nice bonus, almost no unfair killings in the first few rounds and, most importantly, another extra life by spelling EXTRA. This is a fantastic game.
  18. I'm lucky in that my father owned a copy of CorelDRAW X5 which was transferable in the family. Not sure what it costs but it was a blast working with once I got used to it. Other than commercial software I can recommend GIMP. As for vectorization: there are vectorization services on the internet, I used VectorMagic for my artwork. You have to subscribe, but they do the first 2 images for free. As long as you don't mind them having your images, I found the results way better than the inbuilt Corel vectorizer.
  19. My head nearly exploded on this one, my fingers still tremble... man... @ExedExes: i mean, of course, I got this one on my first run, no problem to do more, so don't bother [please] :D score 314,100
  20. Having said all that, here's my last score - 256,350 (opening the 200k+ club )
  21. Yeah, me too! The game's that good! Given the rather simple principle (shoot baddies, spare town folks) it's surprisingly deep with all those different .. err... "customer" types I found it helpful to stay in a level as long as you can. Get 11 deposits as quickly as possible and then actively go for points at the populated windows until the timer gets red. Then get your last deposit and finish the level. Also, if you manage to shoot a baddie in precisely the moment he draws you get 5k points (and if you do it 5 times you get an extra live and 20k bonus - managed to do it once, actually).
  22. Aw come on, you serious? I had a run specifically looking for said lady's behavior... hmmm... couldn't find anything. I just shoot the baddie appearing behind that lady. Nothing out of the ordinary. Sorry... could it be that for some very strange reason you shoot too quickly and _between_ lady and tramp?
  23. [humming the in game tune] here's another one 146,350
  24. That's a fun game... they don't make those anymore I found that in order to get higher scores it's better to start at round 1 and try to get those "fair" bonuses which can get really high. score: 109,200
