For reasons already stated, I'd be perfectly fine with the mods accepting MO's score.

Major improvement - 159,600! (level 6-4) At this point I'm able to - steer my way through the barrel stages fairly consistently but still can't always cope with multi-barrel situtions when steering fails (let alone escape wild barrels) - wait patiently for a free pass in the conveyor stages and avoid dumb mistakes with the pies - make my way through the elevator stages more often than not by choosing a pixel-perfect starting point for the final run; I still haven't found out how to do the "retreat on second long spring" stunt though - show some patience when the rivet stages don't work out as expected This game's really got me! On this run I lost 2 lives for not being able to retreat in (elevator) stages 5-4 and 6-4 so that's what I'm trying to figure out next. Oh, and a top 3 spot would be nice

Minor improvement - no spot up on the leaderboard though. Still haven't mastered the 3rd+ elevator stages yet - I understand the "retreat on second long spring" technique but boy are they fast.... 117,400

I've been playing DK a lot lately - managed to get to level 6 with a score of 112,400. Also, I found this guide which helped me a lot understanding that game. Especially the "barrel steering technique" (also mentioned by Cynicaster earlier in the thread) goes a long way in reducing the randomness in the barrel stages. There's really more than meets the eye in that game!

Finally updated the cab with the IGBY games this weekend... here are the first scores: Battle Garegga - 1,026,660 Intrepid - 34,510 (I like this one) Son Son - 64,020 Turbo Out Run - 6,075,190

I'm using both the hi score snapper and CPW. Here are my CPW settings. Let us know if these work for you.

Yeah, I did it score - 15,728,920 I realized that safe driving is the key to success - as strange as that may sound. So I cruised stages 4 and 5 true grandpa style and thus managed to complete the entire run with not a single accident! I really like this game!

Happy Birthday GC! Thank you for making the GameEx Hi Score Comp something special!
-
A minor improvement - 7,331,940 I had just passed the roadsign at the end of stage 4 - guess that makes me 10-12 secs short of reaching stage 5. Anyway, lots of fun, this one!

I find this one rather generic - but that's probably only because I haven't played it much. Let's see if it opens up a little if I play any longer. score - 269,500

I can remember seeing this one for the first time when I was a kid - absolutely jaw dropping! I mean, it went up and down!! Never played it much though as in Germany minors were banned from arcades back in the days... and so I gave it a try for the comp and I find it surprisingly playable, even with my digital joysticks. Add the music and boom! another 3 hours gone Nice! score - 7,221,230

Nice one Ex! What I like about DK is how you actually do find ways to cope with its randomness once you spend a little time with it. So, this week I'm out on vacation but I'll surely give it another try next week.

I tried long and I tried hard - in fact played not much of a game except DK during the holidays. So I was stuck with scores somewhere in the 30k region when all of a sudden things went well for me and I got a whopping 76,500! I can only imagine the insane skills of the top players here! So, next up - dreaded third elevator stage

A happy new year from Germany to you all and your families!

Yeah - I'd really like to know how George and TiF have achieved their insane scores What I am trying to do is - move strictly on a door-to-door basis. I mean I can't for the life of me handle 3 doors opening at once on the higher stages. For example I start with doors 1,2 and 3. Once I got a deposit in 1, I move on to 2, 3 and 4. Once I moved, there's a high probability of someone already waiting in 4 so I can concentrate on that door opening at once. I typically screw up when I have to move by more than one door to defuse a bomb or when time runs out. - know my foes. The dude with the white boots is the fastest one, so I try to look mainly at the boots. Also, when a deposit is robbed and you return to that window, almost always there's the robber still waiting and you can pop it without much ado. - get EXTRA lives. In the early stages with a little practice you can do "0.00" kills, earning you a letter. After very little practice you should be able to get at least one extra life per game (besides a load of extra points). So - happy scoring!

Absolutely second to this one - that would be a massive final amongst two classic European teams! 0-0 right now - good luck to the Dutch team! Well, we'll see about that

OK, here's 2 rather lousy scores - but at this stage it's all about the slot filling, right? (Edit: scores have been submitted to the official scoreboard) Frogger - 7,020 points Elevator Action - 9,500 points
