  1. the upper list is a list of your most played games for that Emu...this feature can be turn off in the control pannel.
  2. hehe true enough.

I'll look into coding that in and see how it does.
  4. hmm you sure about Gex being on the Neo-Geo? 3DO sure...but Neo...thats more like "Samurai Shodown"...any ways just some thoughts & questions.

Well batch scripts are great for DOS....but really learn AutoIt...it does every thing batch scripts do...matter fact you can even use batch script commands and such in AutoIt...just has to be done in a certain way is all. AutoIt is way more powerful...and easier to learn...thats part of the reason I share source code...so people can see how things are done...and frankly how simple it is.

Well there is progress...as I now know what you need....which is simple enough...and I also know what I need to do for how I want things. Ideally nether should take to long....but I'm updating my wordfile for UltraEdit since a newer version of AutoIt is out and we got a bunch of new toys that I may try out...so its nice to have syntax highlighting working corretly to let you know you screwed up the spelling. Any ways no worries...should be done tonight if not in the next hour or so. *Update* 1.1 Here is your required file, with source code. This is to be launched from the "Also Launch:" field in the GameEx control Pannel...!!NOT!! "Launch Before:" because it will cause you system to hang....sorta 1.2 Fixed it to be cab safe enjoy Hot key is set to ESC to kill the application. Hehe now to finish up my method.
  7. Have you checked over at Screenshot Archive...might save you a lot of time.
  8. puppetj - Some times its not a matter of wanting to...but more in the manner of having to. headkaze - Yeah it has a full featured SendMessage API...and more or less any thing you can do with WSH you can now do in AutoIt...TreeView controls can be a bitch some times...because if they are not the default Windows control...but costume jobbies (like most programmers use) then it breaks down to SendKeys...which is ugly and slow far as I care...but its there to do the job if need be. Right now I'm dinking around with WinKawaks and looking to have it hidden up until the window title changes to reflect that the game is fully loaded...at which point stop hidding it, and send it full screen...make it a little less ugly that way...tho will likely leave the end user feeling that the Emu is slower than it actually is for launch time. Any ways yeah I should be able to come up with some rough code for him to work with...since its about as basic and basic programming langs can get.
  9. Okay suggestions taken and made reality. Well far as AutoIt...I'm getting better with dealing with Emu's...generally I use it to Automate the installation of software for Unattended OS installations. Beside my brother and I have a little bet going to see who can build the better media PC; Him with Linux and MythTV and myself with Windows and GameEx...so I'll be doing my best to see about making GameEx shine. Any ways hopefully I'll be as useful to the growing community as you have been headkaze.
  10. Well this is likely a good place to use AutoIt as the middle man...check out my 3DO AutoIt script for some base idea's.

Well the wrapper I have there allows one to kill the process via a hot key...currently BACKSPACE. Yeah "Launch After" is for when a process is no longer active...and since WinKawaks.exe would be still running...it would be pointless as you already noted. Well share the wealth of info about the commandline stuff...could go a long ways.
  12. Your welcome

hmm email me your config for this and any base info you have and I'll get it working if its at all possible. *Update* Okay I got it figured out...just need to regex a clrmamepro.dat file to get the required info I need....and then we should be golden...so maybe tonight if I feel frisky. I might create a UltraEdit macro...since there maybe issues....I have 1.55 roms...and 1.56 exe...and not sure if WinKawaks creates its ClrMAMEPro.dat off whats in the exe...or whats in your roms folder....I'm a newbie to this stuff so be nice. So with the macro...ideally if one owns UltraEdit they could create the files they need personally rather than what ever I end up uploading...as I may not be around to support things some time in the future...and I certainly don't want to babysit. Anyways head way is being made and should be able to be tested in an hour or so if all goes good. Oh the ClrMAMEPro.dat is created strictly from the executable...as it lists 489 drivers where I currently only have 453...doh! *Update* 1.0 UltraEdit Macro for ClrMAMEPro.dat created by WinKawaks is now final...barring any issues that is. 1.1 Fixed some minor issues with the macro, and added Create_INI.au3 to create required ini files 1.2 Added INI zip for those that do not own UltraEdit 1.3 fuck...now working...tho still needs work...marked as beta...ini's are temp GameEx parsing issue so I'll have to redo my macro to fix things. 1.4 Placed INI tags to end of naming (NeoGeo, CPS1, CPS2) Prepackaged 1.55 & 1.56 game ini's, corrected UltraEdit Macro, Changed Kill button to ESC 1.5 Added prepackaged 1.54 game ini's...that should be enough builds to cover most people out there. *Note* This will be updated from now on in the config thread....at the time of this writing its not believed to be final...but very close.
  14. Okay here is a link to my current work files. (RapidShare.de) Some images in the PSD's have been resized with an unsharp mask applied...these you may not want to use...as constantly applying an unsharp mask will damage the image...ideally down size once then apply an unsharp mask. Some have also had thier levels adjusted...or been edited to remove glare or dirt or just speckels...but here they are all the same. You can also find some more possible helpful resources here. 15. Hehe how about ET for the 2600...thats got to have burned its self into every ones mind that ever played it on the 2600. Bottom-right...how about a shot of the console its self...I got a fair collection of source images...and a few of them in PSD format with working paths and such, which your welcome to...just if you come up with any new source images that are decent I ask that you return the fav and let me use them for my projects.
  16. headkaze - Well maybe I'll toy with it, later on this week when I get around to monkeying around with my console icons again...as is I just pen out a work path and copy paste to a new layer and then put a 2px stroke of RGB 17,17,17 which can give a half ass cell shading look. Basically having a bitch of a time getting rid of the jaggies.
  17. headkaze - You mean stroke? Didn't look close enough to see if there is any diff in boarder quality in his vs my console icons...tho mine are still kind of loose as I have yet to standardize. Any ways what firebrand_X gots going is looking sharp.
  18. 2600...hmm Pac Man or Mrs Pac Man Jaguar...Alien vs Preditor I'd really just take a look and see what was the top game for that system and see if it was on other systems. Like for 3DO it was mainly Gex...but that was on a lot of other systems...so maybe some thing like "The Horde" or "Shockwave"
  19. *Update* The fruits of my labor can be found here. This is based off the concept shown to me by zona.

    Emulator video

In the GameEx control pannel in your emulator setup dialogs you'll see a path field named "Snap/Video Path:" this is where you set the path to your video clips. For me I have my Nintendo N64 path set to: "E:\Emulation\Movies\Nintendo N64" Yours of course will likely differ. Then its mainly just a matter of whether or not you have the propper codec's installed to view the files.
  21. Well if you where using Myth rather than GameEx you would be stuck with MIDI...how ever you are blessed with GameEx so you can use backups of your karaoke disks that are in MP3\CDG combinations. I have yet to really play with the karaoke feature...tho I expect I will be in the future as I get my step-son into this...since his girlfriend is big into karaoke...and I'm sure he's up for winning some brownie points.
  22. From what I understand that is coming later this year....or hell maybe already out for the Intel systems...far as using dual cores...one has already been able to run quad processor for some time now with the right hardware and OS. Also worth noting is that both Intel and AMD have stated late next year we should be seeing quad core processors being released. Tho it all goes with out saying that unless the software is written to take advantage of whats there...you'll see little to no gain. Right now I'd buy a dual core AMD but only because I already have a board that supports the chips...if that wasn't the case I'd instead go with the Intel Core 2 cpu's as they are currently better and generally cheaper right now....my how the tables have turned. I'm generally an AMD fan boy, but you'll hear nothing but praise from me over Intel getting back into the race...just have to see if AMD can hit back...ether way tho its all good for us the consumer.
  23. Well lets not go chasing the poor guy off. I don't own any of them as I'm a getto-gamer playing with all this stuff on my PC. Tho if I ever do get around to building a cab...it'll be mainly by own design (carpenter by trade & system admin part time). That said I do like the looks of the SlikStic stuff.
  24. hmm cuts both ways...if the guy hadn't converted to be his mame cab....it may have very well ended up in some land fill some where. Ideally it would have been restored...but realistically...its better how it is, than buried.
  25. Thanks for the tip jedah.
