Yeah mine is as well...I can't seem to find a dat set that match's what mine is...as best as I can recall....system is still awol. Any ways we can probably both work around this problem by simply working off CRC32 checks...I'd personally prefer some thing more anal...but all the dat sets use CRC32...so thats what we'll have to work with. I still have loads of prep work to do before we can even attempt to match names and such. Main issu currently is that I recently found out that all the images I leeched from the first site I link to...don't even match their own release numbering system....So right now as I type I have an AutoIt script surfing in IE to all the different release pages of that site...and generating a list of release numbers\CRC32 numbers\Image numbers...probably should have made it grab the game name as well...but this is taking long enough as it is...and I can likely work around it just fine. So with any luck in an hour, I'll have that list complete and can start moving on to other things. If your game for trying this out...I highly suggest backing up your GBA roms first before letting this thing loose. Things should turn out fine...I just get worried when I could by chance cause someone to have a really bad day.

Well I think we can work around that...I've found a few dat set's and trying to get a feel for things really at this point. Currently I'm looking at using the set found here. Tho its not as complete as the one found here. I do like the prior's naming method better tho.

headkaze give me a week and I'll see if I can't raise the funds to get you lined up with your own gear when dealing with LEDWiz. I don't have a Cab yet...but this is support I would like to see come to GameEx. So if you could get me a parts list, and I'll see what I can do.
-
Well if you can dig me up copies of the dat files used for the sets...I maybe able to work things out.
-
hehe easy with the stuff you quote...makes for a long scroll.

Yeah it should be in the configs thread...or a newer version of it. There are two M2 wrappers in that thread actually done by me...one is simply an update of Tom's...another is my own mess...tho they both share a lot of code...as I copied and pasted back in forth. Basic diff is that one is standalone like other Emu's...and the other actually tries to behave the way the other one did.
-
In the config sticky thread there are a few configs for SSF...including one done by me. I used Daemon Tools tho to mount the disk images...tho Alcohol also supports commandline mounting as well...So simply edit the script as needed.

Well a quick glance over it...my best guess is that since [rom] is in a batch file...its invalid. Well lets run through things here a bit. Means that if your playing say 1943...you would need a batch file called 1943.bat Now in that batch file you would need some thing like: Tho this might be wrong also...but its going off the idea of directory structure like: I'm really not all that great with batch scripts...so I'm prone to errors.

let me see a sample bat file...and I'll look into things for you. Keep in mind I don't currently own a cab...let alone LEDWiz...that said I'll give it a go...but expect trial and error.

Completed Feature Requests (Moved)
Nologic replied to jr9770's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
Okay not sure if this has ever been mentioned...but now that I'm currently running a non registered version of GameEX, this idea gets driven home hardcore. Basic idea is to add a test button to any given field in the GameEx control pannel per Emu...or other area's that may also apply. Mainly this is for testing of commandline's, so one doesn't need to fire up GameEx to see if things work or not. So pressing the test button would have the control pannel find the first available ROM, and use it when loading the Emu. Now this would lessen the value I feel of the nag screen delay...but by the same token it may also draw in more users that may get turned off GameEx when just starting to learn the in's and out's of the application. Of course it could also be only made available to registered users...tho I think it maybe better off as always available. -
While I realize C++ seems a lot more attractive because its smaller and faster than AutoIt...but AutoIt does allow more people to create simple code to do the job they need. Not to mention I have a boat load of source code available here to show how to write the required code, all of which is trivial. Any ways the attached code is for Amstrad CPC (WinAPE) and your commandline should look some thing like: I tried like mad to get native GameEx commandline to work...but never could get it to go. Any ways just drop the Simple_Wrapper.exe in the same folder as WinAPE.exe and you should be golden. I may look into Spectrum but I don't have my main PC here...and hence using a unregistered version of GameEx....which blows to work with when creating wrappers & configs as the delay really gets old fast.

what games do winkawaks run that mame or dreamcast cant?
Nologic replied to slipstream19's topic in General
mame32k has netplay but doesn't look as nice...its based off an older version of Mame. Mame32Plus! current builds look just as nice, but is lacking netplay...unless I over looked that option. Plus there is the cool factor of running some thing other's aren't. -

Not sure where Dreamcast comes into the picture. The Emulator Zone I'd say the main thing is netplay...which I'm unaware of Mame doing currently. -
amos_82 - Good to hear Adultery - Sad to hear Maybe try killing all unneeded background process's and see if the issue clears up...maybe some thing is taking focus away.
-
lingpanda maybe share your ini for winKawaks...wish I could pitch in on the trouble shooting. Adultery - Now the pathing in the actual WinKawaks ini is correct far as pathing is concerned correct?

Well I'm at a loss, I looked at all three scripts, simple wrapper and both kill scripts, none of them have any thing that should alter window focus. If any thing the "WinGetTitle('')" bit would at worse grab the wrong window title...or at least should. Try the original kill script that linpanda re-uploaded for us and see if that makes a difference...if not...then more than likely its nothing to do with the scripts since that one is very cut and dry. Wish I could be of more help, but right now I'm in a fight with the State...and well my house needs to be clean for the time being.
-
I would image...but then again I don't know for certain...but I can see no reason why they would make them incompatable...as it would just be more of a tech support headache.

Well debating is fine, but one needs to keep things in perspective as well. A fair amount of people sell off what they have bought from an original retailer in order to make new purchues from the same or different retailer. I typically sell off my old car before I buy a new one...or do so shortly afterwards. This allows Ford or Chevy or who ever to continue to make money off me...where if my older car was worth nothing...I wouldn't be able to buy into a newer car. Hell and some other guy wouldn't be able to get into a car at all. This applies to a lot of other fields than just car's, computers, houses, software, games,... I resale a lot of my older stuff at a very marked down rate compared to what I paid originally...well because one its old and second its used...but since its cheaper than new stuff, some one that can afford that price point is able to get some thing they want...and because they made that purchuse it allowed me to get some thing that I wanted. Primary point here is that some times protecting old outdated products helps insure current product sales. Any ways we should probably end this before we get our ass's in to much trouble.

Well its simple enough to answer...do you own the game? If no then its piracy...all other issues have no bearing on the primary issue and question. I personally have been bit by software piracy, as I use to be part owner in a software company that was driven out of biz because there wasn't enough sales...it wasn't because there wasn't enough users...hehe there was a lot of them enough to actually make me fairly wealthy if they all had paid for it...but they didn't. Hence why you can afford to build a cab...and I can't. I'm by no means going to say that my nose is clean because it isn't...but don't go kidding your self that what you are doing is right...because its not. There may very well be some guy on eBay that is selling off his Dreamcast games...not because he wants to, but because he needs to in order to put food on the table. By you downloading the game rather than buying it from him, him or his kids maybe going hungery tomorrow. That how ever is a what "if" type deal. Course by the same token "if" all the users of my software had paid for it, I would be able to buy every machine Mame currently supports, instead of using pirated rom's I could dump my own.

hmm NES isn't a good example....but that would be getting off subject. Just becareful of how you ask questions in the future.
-
katuuuz - That could have and should have been phrased differently. How ever I don't view a question about how to open a multi-part archive as supporting piracy...how ever lingpanda is correct that in part some of your question is out of bounds. Any ways you are correct that it is more than likely a WinRAR spanned archive...as such you do not have to append .rar to the end of the file name. As such you should just right click on the .001 file and select "Open with" from the context menu...if that doesn't show up press and hold down "SHIFT" prior and during your right click of the .001 file...in ether case select WinRAR and let it open and extract the file. In the future please be more careful of how you phrase things.

Well if you ever need even more room than that per CD you could buy a Plextor drive, they support burning up to 1gig of data on a typical 700mb CD...there are pit falls tho...not all other CD reader's will see the data..or may see it as corrupt. How ever if its burned and used by a Plextor drive...you'll be fine.
