  1. Well from my quick glance over it...the current wrapper doesn't cover all the game roms. My old wrapper\loader which I think was current with HK's latest covered 23 game roms...the current Model2 build supports 37 game roms. 2. Some thing thats fairly simple to get setup to work with GameEx is DScaler if all you want to do is view TV. Actually I'm surprised GameEx doesn't package or offer DScaler as part of the default installation until GameEx natively supports TV/PVR...hmm maybe thats some thing to be placed in the feature requests thread.
  3. Well in the mean time you could look into maybe getting one of the following to play nice with GameEx: MediaPortal GB-PVR
  4. Sweet update This is bar none the best money I've ever spent on a product...tho the down side is that this product has gotten more of my time than anything else...short of an OS that is.
  5. You hated to tell me?? hehe then why did you. No problem tho...had to cover all the bases anyways...and while all the post wasn't needed by you...someone else will likely stumble upon it. Really it wouldn't work as a tut for mounting CD images as really in this case the CD Images are treated much like any binary rom. Oh have you toyed around with Pete's OpenGL2 plugin...very very sweet...however GameEx doesn't like OpenGL. I keep bugging Tom...but I think he has me on ignore...hehe. Anyways your welcome and enjoy GameEx and I hope to see you pitching in later on, with helping others.
  6. Okay lets cover a few things here....GameEx doesn't handle OpenGL very well...so if you can avoid it...do so other wise there will be more effort required...and for now...we are just looking to get things up and running. So with that in mind I'd like it if you would download Pete's D3D Driver 1.76 and unarchive it and place it in your plugins folder. Launch ePSXe.exe (normally) Click Config (menubar item) Click Video (menu item) Select Pete's D3D Driver 1.76 (drop down menu item) Click Configure (button) You'll see two radio buttons under Resolution & Color Click Fullscreen mode The rest of the settings are largely subjective so set them as you like them Click OK (button) Click OK (button) Click Config (menubar item) Click Cdrom (menu item) Select ePSXe WNT/W2K core 1.52 (drop down menu item) Select the correct CD Rom drive from the drop down menu Enable all three options Click OK (button) Click OK (button) Click Config (menubar item) Click Bios (menu item) Click Select (button) Browse and select your preferred bios image {generally SCPH1001.bin} Click Open (button) Click OK (button) Click File (menubar item) Click Run ISO (menu item) Browse and select your preferred CD image {*.bin, *.iso, *.nrg, *.img} Click Open (button) This should launch the game in fullscreen mode {if not more testing needs to be done} Press ESC (keyboard button) to exit the game Now ideally ePSXe is launching games fullscreen via the GUI...now we need to work on the CLI (Command Line Interface) part of it Direct your web browser to Synesis Software and download and install SSWSE_2_0_2 {or newer} which is a small batch of Shell Extensions which are very helpful. Direct your web browser to Ninotech and download and install Path Copy Now open a new Explorer (file manager) session and browse to where preferred CD image {*.bin, *.iso, *.nrg, *.img} is Now since you have Path Copy installed you should be able to RightClick (mouse right button) on the CD image and see an option in your Context Menu labled Copy Path, now move the cursor over that Context Menu Item, you will see a Sub Menu, now LeftClick (mouse left button) on Copy Long Path Context Sub Menu Item. Now switch to the Explorer (file manager) session that has ePSXe.exe executable showing now RightClick (mouse right button) ePSXe.exe executable and you will see an option in your Context Menu labled Run with arguments ..., now LeftClick (mouse left button) on that Context Menu Item. You will be prompted with a new dialog box...now I want you to enter the following into the drop down edit box -nogui -loadbin " then RightClick (mouse right button) and from the Context Menu LeftClick (mouse left button) on Paste...this should paste the pathing to your CD image {*.bin, *.iso, *.nrg, *.img} now enter an addtional double quote " Click Run (button) This should launch the game in fullscreen mode {if not more testing needs to be done} Press ESC (keyboard button) to exit the game At this point one should be ready to tackle GameEx I've modified the INI file to be more inline with what you had prior [Emulator_13] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=Sony Playstation TITLETEXT=Sony Playstation StartPageLogo=psx ROMFilter=*.iso;*.bin;*.img RomsInFolders=False RomPath=C:\Emulators\RomFiles\Playstation SnapPath=C:\Emulators\GraphicFiles\Playstation\Snaps TitlePath=C:\Emulators\GraphicFiles\Playstation\Titles BoxPath=C:\Emulators\GraphicFiles\Playstation\Boxes CartPath=C:\Emulators\GraphicFiles\Playstation\CD's WorkingPath=C:\Emulators\Programs\ePSXe MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=False ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=False RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MAPFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=epsxe.exe -nogui -loadbin "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" OLDatZip= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= configFile= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic= PCGame= DATABASE= GamesIn7Zips=
  7. I'm using CDR Mooby v2.8 to load my disc images. (tho not required as the stock CD plugin will do) Yeah RomsInFolders doesn't work...member or not. So all disc images need to be in one folder...which should be the one you have listed in RomPath=C:\Roms\Sony Playstation Oh you should probably keep ROMFilter=*.iso;*.bin;*.img from your config...mine hasn't really been refined yet...I tend to go off on wild tangents trying to get all kinds of stuff to work...but never really spit shining any of it. hehe once you got things working there...if you want to get fancy maybe check out this thread for a new idea...tho I haven't really gone the distance with that...refer to above statement.
  8. Command=ePSXe.bat "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" Batch files will execute then exit...GameEx will see the exit of the batch file and think the Emu is has been exited and thus return to GameEx's interface. Exactly what does your batch file contain anyways? Here is my INI for ePSXe *Update* Removed INI...see listing further down the thread
  9. Its a good thing they came in handy.
  10. Good to see you came up with a workable solution to your problem.
  11. Well I hope first of all you are talking about each CD image is archived by its self....and not a large collection all in one archive. That said an AutoIt or like wrapper could be written...however there would be a huge delay while the archive is first decompressed, then the image mounted if required...before the game even fires up...not to mention once you exit the game there would be file clean up involved...which may effect the responsiveness of GameEx for a short time. So realistically I'd say no...but it could be done...just very ugly and not very enjoyable.
  12. Okay just noticed you made mention of some .NET error's...make sure you have the following installed. .NET Framework 2.0 Redist .NET Framework 1.1 Redist Next go through all your *.uae files and make sure the pathing is correct for the KickStart roms...which should be: kickstart_rom_file=C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\Roms\Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.60 (1993)(Commodore)(CD32).rom kickstart_ext_rom_file=C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\Roms\CD32 Extended-ROM rev 40.60 (1993)(Commodore)(CD32).rom Also for the time being make sure gfx_filter= is set to direct3d and not opengl Also update to WinUAE 1.4.1 as there is a bug fix that may help resolve some or all of the primary issues.
  13. Okay I'm back in town for a few days...before heading out yet again for a week or more. So have things gotten better for you...and if yes or no explain what has or hasn't happened.
  14. Well its probably an issue with the paths given in the *.uae files. Also GameEx is known to have minor issues with Emu's that use OpenGL to render...so for the time being please use only D3D. I'll try and trouble shoot some more...but I'm likely to leave you high and dry for a week...heading out of town and currently have not interest in paying for a year long contract just so I can have net access for a week.
  15. Removed as no longer required or effective
  16. Heh yeah...the forum just got a lot closer to home.
  17. Not that I know of...but I've seen an application out there on the web that would allow you to set the order of when applications would be loaded...getting a hold of this and setting GameEx to be dead last would likely solve that issue...if thats in fact the reason why. I'm sorry tho I can't recall the name of it...but could probably be found on FileForum.betanews.com Not sure if this was the one...but it looks like it would probably do the job. [linky]
  18. Removed as no longer required or effective
  19. Your welcome...tho it wasn't till just recently those got posted...I was handling Winkawaks in a lot less graceful manner prior.
  20. Sorry was at work. I got the config's I'll try them out later. I think we need to hit some common ground. First off I want one setup of WinUAE completely dedicated to ONLY CD32...any other Amiga emulation you wish to do...goes in a different folder. So create "C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\" Extract WinUAE 1.4.0 zip archive into the above mentioned folder. If done correctly "C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\winuae.exe" should be the correct pathing to the executable, with the following folders: C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\Amiga Programs\ C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\Configurations\ C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\Docs\ Now I have these additional folders: C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\ActionReplay\ C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\ISO\ C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\KS-Disks\ C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\Roms\ Now I want you to put "bin+cue", "iso+cue", "iso", "..." any and all CD images ONLY into "C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\ISO\"...no sub folders...all games side by side. Now I want you to put all "*.uae" files into "C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\Configurations\"...again no sub folders...all configs side by side. Now I want you to go through your CD images and make sure that loader files "*.cue" and the like file name match up with the CD image file name they are to load. Now I want you to go through all your CD Image loader files "*.cue" and the like and make sure no pathing is given in their instructions. If you see: Change to: Also while going through the loader files "*.cue" and the like make sure the name given matches the CD image to be loaded. Now I want you to go through and make sure all the "*.uae" file names in "C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\Configurations\" match up with all the CD image and loader file names found in "C:\Emus\Amiga CD32 (WinUAE)\ISO\" This means if you have a CD image called "Akira (1994)(ICE)[!].iso" then you better have a "*.uae" file named "Akira (1994)(ICE)[!].uae" because if you have an "*.uae" file named "Akira.uae" to a CD image named "Akira (1994)(ICE)[!].iso" things will fail...bar none. I'll update this in a bit with more info...hehe want to go read the news real quick.
  21. [email protected] Okay in your uae files make sure you have "use_gui" set to "no" Make sure you are ether using software or D3D rendering...no OpenGL...well you could but that gets into other things...and just trying to get stuff up and running right now. I've ran into another issue tho...which I have run into in the past as well...just never got into resolving it...and thats when certain disc images are mounted explorer launches showing the contents of that disc. AutoStart is disabled...and all options for the drive have been set to "Do nothing"...still getting this hang-up tho. *Update* Install TweakUI to disable Windows own AutoPlay feature. Directions: Once you've installed TweakUI, you'll find a lot of options in it. For our current problem, in TweakUI expand My Computer, and then AutoPlay. Click on Drives, and uncheck the drive letter that you no longer want to AutoPlay. Click on Apply, and that's it.
  22. Well no idea but at least you're no longer getting the DirectX error's.
  23. Okay removed the update...should know launch *.uae's using the same name as the rom file...minus file extension. I've been slightly side tracked on this issue...been trying to get a CD32 game to look good and play right...some what there...sound during video's blows real bad tho. Any ways I'll try and get the core issue solved now.
  24. Are you using a released build or a beta build of Mame since its my understanding that the beta's are having a lot of work done on the input sub system. For now I'd just suggest sticking to what works for you unless there is some must have new game added in a recent build. Heh I know not much help.
  25. Seems to be a DirectX issue thats causing it...tho I know of no cure other than suggesting reinstalling your video drivers and DirectX.
