  1. So I installed a second display for the very cool Marquee Magic program. While I was cutting out room in my cabinet for said screen the postman dropped off my latest round of Doctor Who DVDs and a question occured to me. Is it possible, or rather is it possible in full screen mode, to play a game on the main screen and pipe a video to the second screen in GameEx? I know I could run GameEx windowed and then move a player to the second screen and play it there that way but that could be problematic. Is there a built in way to do that or a third party app that would do the same? Thanks in advance.
  2. That is exactly the one I'm using. Straight from MAMEdev.org. It's the very latest 64bit version of the mame client. I guess I was unaware that they mark the binary releases with a B and the source with an S. So I'm just running MAME .144 not .144b (or rather the b is insignifigant).
  3. http://mamedev.org/release.html Is that not the OFFICIAL MAME dev? I think it was JUST released but I couldnt swear to it?
  4. Yep. .141 that downloads from GameEx works but 144b does not. I can play sans bezel or downgrade. Any idea what sort of functionality, MAME wise that I lose via this trade off? Tom, what's the newest version it will currently detect and how soom till another update?
  5. that seems to be it. If I DL the ver from the "Download emulator" list, ver 141 I believe it says, it works just fine. Let me back up that version and try again with a clean 144 and see what happens
  6. I pulled the skip game info but how do I make GameEx know that I want it to say artwork instead of artwork_directory since it's not autodetecting my MAME ver properly?
  7. Basics: GameEx 12.24 Mame64 .144b but the same thing was happening in mame .143 Mamex per the command line is putting out: Running: cmd.exe /c C: C:\Emulators\MAME\mame64.exe macrossp -rompath C:\Emulators\MAME\roms -nowindow -joy -skip_gameinfo -mouse -bezel -artwork_directory artworkgameex Both the -artwork_directory and -skip_gameinfo are giving me an unknown option error and returning me to GameEx. From a dos prompt I can type the same command line sans the two offending options and it works fine. It seems to be any vertical game that would use a bezel. You can see from the artworkgameex that I'm not yet trying to do anything fancy. I found another post that seemed to indicate problem solved via updating the game list but no joy there for me. Here is the entirety of my log.txt: What's up????
  8. Is there a possibility of a bulk type file that people could DL, perhaps even as a donor service, that would allow us to add these great images and movies to our Gameex service faster than one at a time? Edit: Or is this something I can already do if I sign up for EmuMovies full membership?
  9. Sounds good. I'm at work right now so as tonight I'll give that a go. Just so I'm clear, Donkey Kong is built in to GameEx so if that's my test game for 'B. Troubleshooting with "Run Last Game"' then I should expect to see something in there about GameEx, correct?
  10. I hate to make my first post here a dumb one but such is the way of things. I'm setting up a new system with a fresh win7 install. Brand new registered ver of GameEx with nothing else installed. When I try to play just the games included (DK, PacMan, etc.) it acts like it's going to start then the screen goes dark for a sec and then comes back to the GameEx interface. I set up the downloaded MAME emulator and added some roms as per the very helpful instruction video and the games show up just fine but when I try to run them it does the same thing. No error message or anything, just a a dark screen for a second and back to the GameEx interface. I'm intending on hooking this up to an IPac2 and putting it in a cabinet but that's not nescessary to play, correct? I mean I should be able to just play with the keyboard if I so desire. Thanks in advance. Ron
