  1. Yeah, it's MDF. I intended on getting the air compressor and sander out and getting it as baby but smooth as possible. I think in my mind I had it envisioned with that oak laminate style look. I just couldn't find any of that anywhere. I heard that you could buy it from Happ but I didn't see it on their site.
  2. I picked up an old cabinet because it had some cool grafix and a really nice looking glass with the bezel painted on. Unfortunately the cabinet itself was painted poorly and is really rough. I was hoping to sand it down and put a black or oak laminate down. Unfortunately I'm having a devil of a time finding anything that's not like shelf paper (which is only 18" wide so I'd have to try and match up seams 3x). Any ideas?
  3. So how is this project progressing? Getting close?
  4. Which emulator is that?
  5. Yeah, it's got a special plug and an EPROM that's turning out to be a VERY proprietary system to Golden Tee. I was HOPING to use it for my MAME cab since it's made to fit on top of it.
  6. I picked up another Golden Tee cabinet for purposes of turning it into a MAME for a friend. It came with the little "Tournament Play" LED display. I've heard these are impossible/a huge pain in the @$$ to repurpose for just general LED display usage. Has anyone around here tried this? Any tips? Would I be better just pulling out the board and display and just replaced it with one that's a little more user friendly? Thanks in advance.
  7. Wow, that is straight up amazing. I am impressed.
  8. Yeah, I went bug nutty with the buttons. When I first converted it I only did 2 players with 6 buttons each. Then I started running SF IV arcade edition on it and didn't NEED 8 buttons per player but...
  9. Pretty much finished with my cabinet. Bought an old Silver Strike Bowling cabinet and redid the control box and panel to be a 4 player set up. Also expanded the hole for the display on top to be able to add a 19" LCD.
  10. Is it? I am trying to piece this stuff together from tidbits I find here and there. I'm a far better wirer and woodworker than I am coder so this is all kind of trial and error for me. so rather than //.DISPLAY0 it would just be DISPLAY1 and //.DISPLAY1 would be DISPLAY2?
  11. Out of curiousity, is this correct syntax for specifying which display screen1 and screen2 go to?
  12. OK, my machine is back up and running and on a lark I opted to switch the inputs for the monitors, just to see if that did anything. It did. Now I can't load ANY game with the -numscreens 2 option. Even with a freshly made -cc mame.ini it crashes right off the bat. I'm now wondering if it's something it doesn't like with the particular monitor driver...
  13. Right now the system is down because I'm replacing the control panel with a new 4 player box. HOPEFULLY I'll have it up and running again in the next couple days. Did I make it clear that it's not your app? It does the same thing from a DOS prompt. I mean I REALLY appreciate the help, I just don't want you pulling out your hair thinking it's your plug-in messing up.
  14. I'm running two Ipac 2s and I've assigned the buttons for player 3 A&B to keys I want to use to SOMEHOW raise and lower the volume in windows (like how you would with a windows keyboard that has buttons specifically for that). Since I haven't found anything built in to win 7 I've been looking for add ons. I tried a program called "Volume Tray" recommended on an older site. It detected the key press and adjusted the volume lever inside the app but it didn't affect the volume on the computer in any way. I found another program called Stroke It that I haven't had a chance to tear in to yet. Could be promising. Anyone else doing something along these lines? What did you do to achieve this functionality?
  15. No worries. The only time it crashes is on games with multiple screens AFTER I've already successfully loaded them and switched the displays. The numscreens 2 itself doesnt kill it. If I leave the displays where the want to be (backards) then it never crashes. It's only after I tell screen 1 to display the video for screen 0 and vice versa. Even then it works fine till I shut down the game. Then the next time it crashes on load.
  16. default as in no command changes? The time stamp on the file doesnt reflect a change when I flip the displays but if I DONT flip them it has no prob with the -numscreens 2 switch. Very odd...
  17. So you don't see anything in the .ini explaining why it's happening? I just can't figure out why it'll load with the displays set default and works with them switched but crashes when I've set them to load the otherway. I'd think if it was strictly a d3d thing it would fail when I switch them in game. I may try a different ver of MAME and see if it's just a proablem with this build.
  18. Ok, here goes. Well, not permitted to upload the actual file so... From error.log Mame.ini:
  19. Does it log information there? Dunno why it's not in the error.log... grumble grumble. I'll post it as soon as I get home. Thanks.
  20. OK, first off Adultery's new plugin is sweet. Unfortunately it's exposed a problem for me. I'm running a machine with two displays, one over the other. Typically I run GameEx with Game Extender but this error crops up even when I load the game from a DOS prompt so I'll just talk about it from there. When I try to load any dual screen game on just one screen it runs fine. From here out the cmd line I am running is: mame64 punchout -numscreens 2 -log When I run the same game on two screens it runs ok, except the displays are reversed. Meaning what should be on the main screen is on the secondary screen. I can fix that thru the TAB menu in MAME from inside the game and it works fine till I close it. Next time I try to run any game with more than one screen MAME crashes as soon as I open it up. Just get the message saying Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator has experienced an unexpected error and has been shut down. The error.log file contains one line which says "Physical Height 1920 Physical Width 1080", which is of course the resolution to which my main display is set. I tried changing the resolution to every setting between 1920x1090 and 640x480. Same result with only the specifics numbers in the error.log being different. I've tried using command promts to force it to run at particular aspects/resolutions with the same result. I've run it with different -video options and aside from it looking crappier and running slower it doesn't seem to remember how I had the screens so it defaults back to the switched displays which, as I said, runs fine. Once I have set the screens to show on the correct display and the error starts the only way I can fix it is to run the mame64 -cc to reset the mame.ini Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  21. OK, this is only related to your super awesome plug-in in a weird way. When I run MAME games on one screen it works great. When I use your app to split a game, say punch out, it puts the main screen, the fighting one in this example, on the smaller top screen and the secondary screen on the lower main screen. Any ideas?
  22. Super tiny thing. My plug in manager is in the configuration folder ungder gamex in the start manager rather than utilities. I don't recall moving it so maybe install puts it somewhere dif now than when you installed?
  23. So is this something that will be worked in to the next patch? Do I need no to do anything special to update when the next one happens?
  24. Now that is user friendly!
  25. This seems awesome. As soon as I'm done building my new control panel I'm gonna play the heck out of this. Tangentially related question. Is there a comprehensive list mame switches somewhere easy to find/read? Thanks in advance for helping a newb.
